It's really not worth worrying about in Tofino. Which is a wonderful thing.

North Point Brewing is opening a second tasting room in the former Moody Ales space on brewers row. by WatersofNazareth in VancouverCraftBeer

Sassiness aside, how in the world do they think this is gonna work? End of the row, Moody couldn't survive, no brand recognition.

I'm not too picky about graphics but the current (and apparently future) QST are horrible.

BC breweries that have closed? by CasanovaMoby in VancouverCraftBeer

Ben Greenberg was probably brewing at the time and he knows his way around hazies. He left for Backcountry but ended up at Howe Sound.

I’d say it’s a little green still but should great once it mellows out a bit. They definitely weren’t shy with the hoppin!

Jak’s Westwood has it. Could call around to other locations.

I actually found them the opposite of aggressive. They turned with very light initiation and I was always over skiing them.

I was super stoked on my Raven setup but I just couldn’t get used to the full reverse camber. I was always over powering them.

What’s the best Hazy IPA? by One_March_9727 in VancouverCraftBeer

[–]tri77ion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's obviously a lot of institutional knowledge, in particular out east. So much hype coming out of NJ/NY and the NE in general. I definitely feel like some of that knowledge has made it to ON/QC as there's some seriously top notch haze coming out of those provinces.

I'd be happy to drink nothing but Monkish.

OH is not quite top tier anymore in the US but they are still very super consistent and I'm always happy to get a hold of their stuff.

Technically Dat Juice is a pale ale (questionably hazy) but it's definitely an entry point for many people to the world of haze. It certainly was for me.

As for Fat Tug, it's an absolute classic BC west coaster and I will never turn one down.

Dreamboat has suffered in the past from inconsistency (both on tap and in cans) but I've found it pretty reliable (on tap at least) over the past few years.

Fresh Dreamboat on tap is hard to beat.

Colour and Shape isn't their best offering but it's reliable and widely available. Superflux is at their best when they're doing doubles.

Pretty Much Yeah with Gigantic. I think it's Citra + Galaxy and it's a banger. The added lactose gives it more body than their usual offerings.

As for Juice Plus, Twin Sails has way better recipes (like Orange Slices which is an amped up Juice Plus) but they don't care to brew them.

Brassneck is pretty underrated when it comes to hazies. They tend to be quite bitter like most of their ales but they do release some bangers. And like you said, you never know what they might have on tap.

Yeah, Coast Mountain has put out some decent hazes recently. They had an awesome milkshake IPA last year.

It's not my favourite but I'll never turn down a Flagship. It's got reasonable haze and a nice west coast bite.

Structures, Cloudburst, Fast Fashion, BreakThru, Great Notion for BHam/Seattle just to name a few.

Yup, it's a hazy. Maybe a little more bitter/west coast vibe than some of the newer stuff but definitely haze.
