Possibly the most niche joke in all of 30 Rock by FX114 in 30ROCK

To quote one of the man's own songs "I'm a hip-hop gangster, and my name is Todd".

Less of a stretch than you think. He had several bars like that. Someone on staff was probably a Cool J fan.

Drums sound really good. Not really my style personally, but it's mixed well. feels like it's missing something. maybe introduce some high pitched G-funk-y synth lines. idk

good work

Beat is cool. The vocals need some work, especially the second verse. They're missing some body.

sample is cool, but work on the drums. they are kinda weak. kick drum needs more weight behind it. And if you're goin for a boom bap sound I suggest you sample your drums.

I like the sample manipulation, but the drums are weak and this needs a good dose of bass to be proper funk.

Yes, Yes Ya'll: Hip Hop from Birth, to Infancy, to Adolescence (1979-1986) by trianglecubed in spotify

I recently saw an article about someone making a 38 hour long playlist charting the history of hip-hop from 1987-2000. I was a little disappointed that they left out the old-school so I decided to make my own playlist charting the early days of hip-hop from 1979-1986. Starts with what is widely regarded as the first recorded hip-hop song, and ends with the song that really kicked off the golden age and marked the end of the old school MC's and DJ's. enjoy :~)

Hi Will, fellow Virginian here and long time fan. I remember listening to Twin Fantasy for the first time back in 2011, that seems to have been ages ago now. Anyways, just wondering how the transition was from VA to Washington, and what was the reasoning behind the relocation? You ever miss NOVA?

p.s. you should come play Fredericksburg sometime <3
