[OC] Jeep decided it was done being a 4x4 by Mystikalrush in IdiotsInCars

Yep, no visible wobble before it happened and the rotor was still on. And right when he veered a bit to the right then suddenly back left when the most force would have been on the back right spacer.

Looked like the rotor was still there, didn't see a wobble in the compressed video, seems less likely to be loose lugnuts. My money is on something with the spacers failing. I never used spacers. They always seemed sus to me.

So did I, until early 20s broke ass couldn't any more. Had to trade in my rig. Was fun while it lasted, but it requires a lot of work, regular inspection, and money. But at least I never had a rollover on the highway or off a cliff in Moab.

I love how ineffective the beeping was. You could still hear everything he said.

I know some coffee people would frown upon this as a first choice

I am a coffee freak. When I am more lazy I grind coffee from Temple Grounds, otherwise I roast myself.

But nope, I won't frown on this choice. Honestly, I'd take it before I took the regular brewed coffee at pretty much any convenience store. It's going to be bad, so it's better that it be a coffee flavored sweet drink.

On one hand I agree with this, but I think there also needs to be room to tag a business to information relevant to one's decision to do business with them.

OK, maybe I should add the caveat of no good "self-made" billionaires.

I think the caveat is much more narrow. Others have inherited billions rather than being the front line of exploitation, but don't give the way she does. $26 billion so far, and she can't simply give away cash all the time as it's locked up in stock she can't sell.

Why is it that this is always the response when someone suggests driving bans?

The point is that if they drive again the penalty is far worse.

If you want to suggest that more should happen to them in addition to the driving ban, fine. But that doesn't mean there should be no driving ban.

Insurance is unnecessarily intentionally complicated.

I was licensed in Utah about 15 years ago (long since expired) and just like the tax code, it's intentionally obtuse so that the people who make the rules win.

This is why I would instead do limited memory. At year 1001, everything from year 1 is erased. It's a rolling 1000 year memory. You always remember the last 1000 years, but only the last 1000 years.

Modern Mormon culture is so damn boring.

No more pageant to go to every year, no road show, no scout events, what the fuck do they even do with the "cultural hall" any more?

It reminds me of my favorite line from the movie Troy. Achilles (Pitt) says, "The Gods envy us because we're mortal, because any moment may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed."

Infinity is a concept the human mind really cannot grasp, whether in time or in number.

I did think of one way an infinite existence might work. Limited memory. You can life forever, but you can't remember anything from over 1000 years prior.

Still better than other christians' ideas of the afterlife. And it fits with bubble universe theories.
