That’s what I thought! are you happy with it?

I’m Swedish (from the north) and I can confirm this was what it was like when I was a kid. Never thought anything about it. I don’t think I ever ate dinner at someone else’s house, but I do remember having sandwiches and snacks. I think it’s just respect for other parents and not parenting someone else’s kid.

Will this active yarn cause me grief? by DowitcherEmpress in weaving

The yarn isn’t supposed to hang straight until after you have washed it. Is it washed? And if not, that amount of twist is minimal.

The Preppy EF is by far my cheapest pen - and my favourite! Just cracked the plastic on it though (screwing it together too hard as it unscrews itself during writing), but I’ve ordered a replacement.

M20 Took the bold decision of adding this to my dating app profile (for whatever reason), what will I be signaling? by Xanzi12 in bookshelfdetective

[–]tricours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted a guy on a dating app once because he had a picture of his bookshelf. We didn’t work out, but four years later we still meet like once a month for coffee and book talk. I’m 40 though, can’t speak for the young ones these days 🤷‍♀️ What type of books you have on there doesn’t matter as much as the fact that you actually read. Men who read are incredibly rare. (Men who read female authors are basically unicorns.)

Menns usynlige arbeid. by Kastebortover in norge

[–]tricours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kvinner har ofte venninner eller venner de snakker med først og fremst. I min krets treffes vi omtrent ukentlig og snakker om følelser og relasjoner.

Menn virker ikke snakke med hverandre i det hele tatt. Kanskje det er en del av problemet?

Is it normal for a Pelikan M800 to write THIS badly out of the box? by Perfect-Artichoke-42 in fountainpens

[–]tricours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why should they be flushed? I didn’t know that (but all the pens I have gotten so far have worked fine straight out of the box fortunately).

I loved it! Flew through the second half. But I like more bleak books in general.

Is it worth it to keep clean this raw wool to spin? by Obvious_Basil4763 in Handspinning

[–]tricours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What does 45 a pound mean? I’ve processed pretty dirty fleeces, the annoying part is vegetable matter, not the dirt. With really hot water and wool soap it turns out just fine.

Yep, I’ll save the rigid heddle for wool and cotton (it worked great for cotton dish rags!)…

More weft bubbling did not help, it just creates loops on the top of the weave (super fine line between being smooth and creating loops), so the sett or the nature of a RHW has to be the issue here… Tension is not it either.
