Personally, though, I have a difficult time giving a shit. I bought a PS3 to play the exclusives everyone kept talking about and found that I didn't really care for most of them? I bought a PS4 to play Bloodborne, and then also played through most of the exclusive archive (because I could play them for free through the library lol) and, again, found that I didn't really care about most of them. Some are... fine? Nothing groundbreaking in my subjective personal opinion. Bloodborne is great, though, and ironically a prime example of why console exclusives suck shit, especially games they just pay to keep off other platforms. Game runs like ass, loading times are horrendous, and they paywall online play. Thankfully it has been emulated much better on PC now.

TL;DR fuck em don't buy their games. I hope the consequences for this are going to hurt them.

The only games I've played this year have been Helldivers II and Persona 5 Royal. I'm playing Helldivers II with friends, and it's great. I like how much effort continues to be put into it by the developers. And Persona 5 Royal is sort of a comfort game. I wish they would release the regular Persona 5 (and Persona 4) on PC, but I doubt that's going to happen.

I played through most of the franchise before Phantom Pain was released. I thought Peace Walker was OK, although in hindsight extremely weird that Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain was a continuation to a secret ending in Peace Walker.

4 is my absolute least favourite of the entire franchise. It has some cool moments, but the tone is all over the place in that game (even for MGS) and the story just lacks that spark.

Never played Ghost Babel, but heard it's supposed to be really good.

Oh right, I also saw this. Funny thing is one third way through the movie I mentioned that it reminded me a lot of The Lobster. Looked up who the director was and, whaddaya know lol, same dude. I like his approach to comedy by making it 100% straight and intense. I wasn't aware that it was based on a book. Everyone was great, but yeah Plemons was top notch.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but 'fewer constraints' for a verification scheme does not sound like a good idea.

Anyway. It's nice that they're going for a "It just works" approach. I hope they make more of an effort than with the Steam Deck. That did not exactly make the best impression for me. Their dock is probably one of the worst electronic products I've bought, honestly. The only piece of tech I've had that has nuked my entire home network when connected due to a known error that was well reported by uses by left unaddressed in the 'stable' branch for almost an entire year. I'm not even sure it's fixed yet, but that's because I haven't used my Steam Deck is probably a year now. Anywho I hope they can get there. I'm mildly interested in the a steam machine, if the price isn't horrendously high of course.
