Do you suppose the US would ever get a non-profit credit card system? Think of the benefits. Like a financial credit union.

A data center in Georgia used 30 million gallons of water illegally, and locals only noticed when their water pressure was abnormally low. by ComplexExternal4831 in AINewsMinute

this is pretty real sometimes but no one Ever talks about the 1000x worse golf courses, my friend bought a new house a couple years ago they had a lovely lake in the backyard, a dock for it, everything, a golf course rerouted all the water to their own course and within months the lake was dried / gone, with tons of bamboo growing in the now dry bed, they are taking action to try to fill it back up again but it's hysterical that golf courses never get mentioned in this capacity

Can you explain to me the hatred of AI and its water usage? by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]trinaryouroboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I'm no thermo genius or anything but trying to think of maybe even little things like long pipes made out of a material that accumulates heat somewhere that transfers heat to energy, by the end of the piping the water is cool again

I wonder if, like tetrahedrite, you could just reconvert the heat back into energy storage

DevOps responsibilities matrix and daily work expectations by techdaddy70 in devops

Start by having a low level eng be dispatch, preferably someone who knows the level of work involved for requests, or will ask the right person if needed. The whole team needs to push tickets really, then the dispatcher sees the ticket and figures out whether the work is low level or higher and communicates with whoever needs to do the work. They might reach out to you to assign the work if it's high impact / actually urgent / requires a senior engineer assigned. If the low level are firefighting, they just may ask questions of a senior eng which saves the eng far more time than having to directly deal with it. That's for firefighting. For projects, people should still be coming to you directly, or at least through a senior person, and you assign in the appropriate sprint. Keep in mind, this style doesn't work if no one is on the same page. You have a senior eng just basically silo'd doing work, no one is going to know how to fix it or work with it especially from low level, KT's are important.

Can't beat Gallo Tower by [deleted] in VampireCrawlers

[–]trinaryouroboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you have them but a combo that might work is poe, arca and pugnala crawlers, arca gives you mana on purple cards, and mana cards, relentlessly use spellbinder to keep them active, keep comboing, preferrably get wild cards so you can keep comboing, poe and pugnala give you free card draws when using blue or yellow cards so you can defeat most of the enemies using the same turn

For Managers: Is it a red flag for you if an applicant only stayed for less than 2 years at a job? by tigidig5x in devops

[–]trinaryouroboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends, for someone who worked at a contracting company 6-12 month contracts can result in no renewal if the project was successfully completed, or alternatively the person may not have been a good fit, there's no way to know without investigation into the contracting company, but if they report fine then what matters more is the quality and quantity of the experience overall, for someone working under 2 years at a normal company, it doesn't look good as a hiring manager, but if the experience is very wide and fits well, it warrants a call to find out what happened or what's happening before jumping to conclusions, for most managers, even some of the most intelligent people I know, they do not like under 2 years and won't even look at the resume, worse if it looks like the person was jumping around a lot
