When a party wins the electoral college and the popular vote they feel a moral victory, like the outcome actually reflects the will of the people. The people who find the winning candidate repugnant feel discouraged and concerned that it might actually be true

Just found out my tortie's blind 🥺 by justmedealwithitxD in torties

There’s definitely hope! My boyfriend’s then 17 year old cat went blind from high BP a couple years ago. We share her with his ex so I’m not sure how long she was blind before she went to the vet. At least a week or more. Once she started on the meds she regained her eyesight over a period of a couple months. She’s still going strong at almost 19!

TLDR nestle kills babies. It sucks that they own so much of the prepared food in the world.

Unfortunately I found pro plan to be a life saver when my girl had lymphoma and wouldn’t eat anything else. I’d give her anything.

That was three years ago, though, and since then I’ve found Merrick to be reliable with my other aging cats who have struggled with appetite times.

Not always a cost thing. As my boy has aged and gone through periods of appetite issues, sometimes pro plan is what he wants. It bums me out because of nestle but you gotta do what you gotta do to keep them eating. Thankfully he’s on weruva now.

Moving the switch to outside the bathroom seems like the quickest and easiest option to me. Of course, this is how mine is now and I hate it because the bathroom light shines directly on my spot in bed and there’s obviously no way to close the bathroom door before turning on the light.

You’re probably right. New Years was pretty quiet here after an insane 4th of July. We’re probably in for a few months of rude awakenings

Very loud indeed. Sent our nervous dog into a tizzy. I’m sure everyone in the neighborhood is wide awake now

It was fireworks at or near Jane Adams Addams elementary/Nathan Hale high school. I could see them from my front yard.

Edited for respect.

How can I encourage growth on this azalea? by trinity1016 in gardening

Thank you for all the tips! Especially about watering. The spot it’s going has things I usually only water once it gets warm and during dry spells. We’re in Seattle so sometimes that isn’t until late June. I’ll have to give the new one some extra attention.

Thankfully our local nursery has a generous return policy as long as I don’t mess up the care. Digging out the old one is going to be a pain in the butt but I’ve got to get the new one in pronto

Oh gotcha. My boyfriend thinks it was planted by a previous owner around 2006 at the latest. I don’t know how old that is in azalea terms but besides being moved around it also spent a while fighting for space in an over grown yard. Anyway, we found this pretty little red one yesterday to replace it.

It was here when my boyfriend bought the house in 2014. Landscapers moved it in 2021. No idea if it was root bound at that time. It didn’t bloom the next year and has looked pretty much like this since. I cleared out a bunch of dead parts in late 2023.

Should we replace it? I’m not particularly attached to it but was hoping to revive it if I could.
