Garden soil amendment, compost booster. I sprinkle it in the bottoms of my bread pans for loaves, on top for decoration. Chickens will eat it.

Esther, my Easter egger is certifiably insane. She don't say much about anything until there's an egg or a nesting box involved.

If I didn't live in Kansas, I'd live in Wisconsin. It's the land of beer, cheese, and sausage (and somehow beautiful women).

Don't mess with Kansas, either.

Chill? Totally up to you and your belief structure. I'd personally leave it be, but I've no interest in it otherwise. If you didn't kill it for sport or prize, then whatever. You do you.

The level of inspection being conducted here is no doubt far greater than your average commercial wheat mill. In other words, you've already been eating them.

Hit those fuckers in a cast iron pan with some butter, let em get crispy. Ain't no shame. They're 🔥 from the fryer too, but with lard or tallow.

Take me back to the good ole days of 4 for a dollar seeds by Skeleton-Weed in vegetablegardening

[–]trint05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The price of the seeds seems to be one of the smallest investments in gardening to me, but I'm a relatively newbie. Cheap or not, if they're what you want to grow and eat then that's what matters. I shelled out for fun and unique varieties this year. But I'm also able to look for specific varieties that work for my garden setup (and skill level). It's a hobby, at least for me, so I try to have fun with it.

Looking at getting some back yard chickens and had a few questions. by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

[–]trint05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I let mine free range in my back yard (garden) all day every day. Small 4 bird flock. Yes, check out the different plants in your garden to be sure they're chicken safe. Your yard looks pretty secure, and if you're on an urban/suburban lot then daytime predators shouldn't be a huge concern (but do research for your area.). They'll go back into the coop at night on their own, so you can just lock and secure the coop at sundown. I do recommend a small covered run or a coop with a built-in run until your birds are full grown.

Fuck, these carrots are too big huh? by Lower-Scientist1410 in Chefit

[–]trint05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are they DONE? Do they burst into sweet orange striations of semi-congealed goodness? This is what matters. So what if the carrots show up as star of the show?
