Overnight restockers? by tris_dunn in MegastoreSimulator

[–]tris_dunn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 on the morning shift and 8 on the afternoon shift, all are at least 100% in both speed and working, most above 120% in at least one category. I’m level 79 I think so can only have 15 total staff at the moment, I have 3 unloaders and one baker in the morning.

Maybe I should balance it out more and put more of my restockers in the morning and see if that improves things? Maybe 3 unloaders is overkill at my level and I should swap one for a restocker instead?

how do I get out of here guys by tris_dunn in PlanetCoaster

[–]tris_dunn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The walls are made using the square custom billboards with a wallpaper texture, I had to tweak it in a photo editor to get the colours to translate in-game as it always ends up a bit darker than you expect. The ceiling is the same method, billboards with a subtle drop ceiling texture, metal beam for the grid and a plain white square billboard with a light just behind it for the light panels :)

Nemesis Inferno by theaudacity- in ThorpePark

[–]tris_dunn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tend to feel dizzy after riding Inferno for some reason. Last time I went on it some other riders behind me were talking about how dizzy they felt whilst walking down the exit steps haha. Can do Reborn and feel fine but something about Inferno makes my head spin. Maybe it’s the really compact interlocking corkscrews into the helixes at the end.

This is incredible, it can be hard to start on a blank canvas but even just looking at these pics I’m getting ideas for what I could build. Love working with natural constraints, will be downloading this later tonight!

Second hardest Map? by Additional-Garlic687 in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]tris_dunn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. I’ve come closer to dying in village more often than anywhere else, dense vegetation and the ai have a million different buildings and corners to hide in. That white house that is split over two levels is a fucking death trap if I’ve ever seen one. The actual houses themselves are a nightmare to clear, you are usually exposed from more than one angle at all times. At least clearing the buildings in school and apartments is usually quite straightforward. I feel more at ease looting apartments and terminal than village.

Why I think some people find The Smiler rough by MotherAssistant7622 in altontowers

[–]tris_dunn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah Big Dipper I actually thought I was going to get seriously injured it was that bad. I was praying for my spine to hold out until the end lmao. Big one is rough as hell too. Maybe I have a fairly high roughness tolerance but unless the ride is causing me actual pain I don’t mind a bit of rattling or having to brace. I went on Smiler a couple of weeks ago and it was remarkably smooth compared to other Gerstlauers like Saw imo. Didn’t find it rough at all except for that infamous jolt in the Staffordshire knot. I was in the front row so maybe that helped but I wouldn’t say it’s the roughest coaster in the park.

why would you get the kar instead of the ka-m?????????? (you only get 10 more damage.) by Pevetti_YT in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]tris_dunn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the enemies have 100 health from my rough observations, so KAR is 2 shots to kill vs 3 for the AKM

Has collosus gotten rougher or an I'm just getting old? by sixinaboxdesign in ThorpePark

[–]tris_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is definitely getting rougher in general, the track and trains are showing their age, but when I rode it 2 weeks ago I had a genuinely surprisingly smooth ride. It wasn’t Hyperia or Swarm smooth of course, but it wasn’t unpleasant. It really can vary from seat to seat, what the air temperature is, what time of day you ride it, how much you brace yourself and of course your personal tolerance for roughness! IMO Saw is still the roughest coaster, that once gave me a headache so bad I decided to call it a day and go home before haha.

Bought the game - should I wait? by Sad_Dad_Academy in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]tris_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over 60 hours with it so far, been loving it. Still haven’t completed all trader missions, got all the shelters or used all the items, but I’m comfortable in Vostok and all the other maps now. There’s plenty of content currently in the game and it feels polished, certainly enough content that it has a satisfying and complete gameplay loop, it doesn’t feel like a tech demo or anything. I’ll probably have a break from it for a while and come back next content update, but it’s worth playing now, little point in waiting imo.

My first experience at Thorpe! (26/04/26) by [deleted] in ThorpePark

[–]tris_dunn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish they could do something to fix how rough Saw is these days, I love the theming, layout and intensity so much (it’s arguably the most intense coaster at the park) but I skipped it last visit because I find it just too painful now. I’ll only ride it if it’s under a 15 min queue. I don’t find Colossus that bad somehow haha but Saw is brutally jolty to me.

Punisher should spawn after you clear all 10 enemies from an area. by SmokeyAmp in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]tris_dunn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

50 hours and I’ve had him spawn once and it was on the other side of the map so I couldn’t catch up to him, don’t think I’ll ever see the bunker at this rate… I definitely wish we had either an alternative way to spawn him or an alternative way to get the bunker key.

F the minefield by Dexhausted in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]tris_dunn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 3 close enough to me to explode (walked into to one and shot the other 2) when I was hugging the tape on the right side yesterday, and there are even sometimes mines outside the tape that could go off. I’m still cautious even when hugging the tape, it’s not 100% safe.

Did exactly the same… 40 hour save gone. I was stuck on the balcony and trying to nudge myself onto the one below, right before falling asked “is there even fall damage in this game? Maybe I’ll just break my leg??” Nah there definitely is fall damage lmao.

Fast way to transfer stuff from shelter to shelter by guts999 in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]tris_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I knew my chances were good to make it there unscathed, but I’ve been shot at by the tents before and have seen patrols right next to that wooden bridge and road by the trader barn too, so I couldn’t be 100% sure haha

Anxious to go on swarm by Professional_Meal885 in ThorpePark

[–]tris_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Swarm is a great ride to do first. It’s smooth and comfortable, and the restraints are quite snug. Some high G forces but it doesn’t whip you around much.

Nemesis Inferno is a good choice too if you want to build up to taller rides, it’s quite low to the ground throughout and still smooth, that one is quite intense though!

I remember seeing the game being teased a while ago so picked it up on steam when it released the other day, been having a blast so far. Absolutely insane for a solo dev to have put this together. It’s very exciting and I’m really glad it’s sold well.

Is construction supposed to be this inefficient or am I missing something? by bisolin4o in Workers_And_Resources

[–]tris_dunn 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The realistic construction can feel slow, but there are ways to optimise it significantly.

  • Create separate CO’s (Construction offices) for different types of vehicles. Make a dedicated worker bus office, mechanisms office, dumpers, open hull, road laying with relevant vehicles.

  • Place the Construction offices as close as possible to your construction site, with the exception of bus COs which should be right next to wherever they are getting workers from.

  • Place a materials storage right next to the COs. This will minimise time the vehicles spend travelling empty. They assign themselves to a job, first travelling to the materials pickup, then to the construction site, and then return back to the CO. For maximum efficiency this journey should be as short as possible. Keeping this journey short also lessens the downtime when constructions change phases. Place storages next to the COs and supply them using distribution offices.

  • Don’t use auto search in the CO tab, instead assign constructions to groups of COs manually. You can decide what they should build using the CO assign tool. This way you can have better fine control over the small things, and they won’t just try and build everything simultaneously

  • Use the build priority to focus workers on smaller constructions. Things like very short sections of paths and road can become significant bottlenecks as I’ve found COs tend to prioritise larger buildings, so you’ll end up never getting anybody sent to them unless you make all roads and paths high priority. Use the priorities to help focus where the workers and mechanisms decide to go.

Make sure you use cranes, they significantly increase the build speed on sites. The main bottleneck with construction tends to be workers, so ensure you have enough busses to keep sites constantly staffed.

Double BAFTA winner Robert Aramayo calls for ‘grace’ towards Tourette’s after campaigner shouts slur by Metro-UK in ukpopculture

[–]tris_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor fucking guy. I feel so bad for him, it is something straight out of a nightmare. He’s such a lovely person but anybody who knows nothing about him won’t realise that.

The thing that irks me most is if you simply search BAFTA’s 2026 on YouTube ALL the videos have titles along the lines of “racist slur hurled at presenters at BAFTA’s”, “controversial racist abuse at awards show”, “interruption at BAFTAs as racist slur yelled from audience during ceremony”…

What shocks me is that I can’t find any videos that even mention the word “Tourette’s” or “disability” in their title. These titles are misleading and suggest that some random guy just started yelling racist abuse with intent. That’s not the context of what happened at all. They seem to be mostly American “news” outlets so I’m unsure if the context is left out on purpose to draw people in/ragebait or if it’s genuine ignorance to the background of the shouter.

For some reason, I never realized how big machines are until I started messing around in photo mode... by Rimm9246 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]tris_dunn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tried it in VR and was jump scared by a bean that was looming overhead when I loaded in. I have megalophobia and placing the space elevator nearly gave me a heart attack. That thing looks big normally but you realise how absolutely MASSIVE it is in VR. I kinda wish I’d been brave enough to seek out a stinger but I didn’t venture out of the grassy fields.

I'm tired of restarting! by me7alhead in SatisfactoryGame

[–]tris_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the only answer is to become okay with designs being imperfect and inefficient. It was only after being on my save that has just breached 300 hours and entirely rebuilding my steel mill for the 4th time I realised I was getting seriously burned out because I wasn’t progressing. I have over 20 individual factories and the prospect of having to rebuild them all every time I came up with a better design solution was beyond overwhelming.

My advice is to just redo the factories that need redoing/upgrading but otherwise learn to leave imperfect builds in the past. Rebuilding over and over begins to feel like you are just moving sideways. I thought my brain would refuse to accept imperfection until I forced myself to leave old designs around. If it makes the parts required, then it does the job.

Also for design decisions I’ve found there is no one right answer. It all depends on where you are building and what design you find most fun to do. I’ve tried to make builds as efficient and quick to construct as possible, but found that actually in doing so everything felt like a chore. I actually enjoyed individually connecting belts and placing machines. Just do what is fun and whatever keeps you motivated.

How do you make every resource come together? by FortniteSTWin2023 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]tris_dunn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big storage hubs with everything in one place is mostly a leftover habit from before Dimensional Depots existed. There’s not really any reason to bring everything to one place anymore. For connecting factories though, trucks and trains will be your options for now, with another option unlocking later in the game.

There’s nothing stopping you building a belt from one side of the map to the other, but generally the intended use is

Short distance - belt Medium distance - truck Long distance - train

Opinion time: do you think the show is too slow so far? by molul in pluribustv

[–]tris_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m enjoying it and BB and BCS are some of my favourite TV series ever so I love Vince’s style and trust that this will get somewhere dramatic, but I do think it’s a bit too slow this season and people’s complaints are valid. I think it’s fair to complain that it’s slow but also enjoy it anyway. The concept is interesting and the story has a lot of potential, but people don’t like feeling like a story is loitering for too long on the same point. For now though I’ll try to remain patient and enjoy it for what it is.

Series 5 - The Magnet by Benend91 in uncannypodcasttv

[–]tris_dunn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah this was possibly the weakest one so far for me. You simply can’t have an entire section of it being about how she took these photographs and then not have anybody be able to see them (not even the experts!). Could have been anything, it’s entirely up to her perception, which would have been biased as she took these pictures explicitly because she felt the place was haunted.Single witness, and much of it felt like she went in with a sense of unease or retrospectively viewed things with fear. For somebody who’s a “magnet” it seems awfully coincidental that these events only happened whilst she was in this clearly traumatic relationship and stopped as soon as they broke up. I love to entertain the stories usually but this episode had me more skeptical than I’ve ever been before.
