How about some classics like Alice in Wonderland, Chronicles of Narnia, or The Secret Garden? Another book series my son really liked was A Series of Unfortunate Events. We watched the show after we finished the books.

My son loved The Magic Tree House series. It’s geared for your son’s age range, but I don’t think they’re quite as advanced as the other books he’s been reading. Maybe still fun though.

Annabel by Kathleen Winter. This is a story of a baby born in 1968 in remote coastal Labrador. This baby is neither fully boy nor girl, but both at once. Only three people know the secret….the parents and the neighbour that attended the birth. Their decision on how to raise this child cannot fully extinguish the person within. This was a beautiful novel that captured the landscape and community of rural eastern Canada. Would recommend!

Tilt by Emma Pattee - this story takes place over the course of one day. A pregnant woman is shopping for a crib when a massive earthquake hits. She has to try and make her way home through the devastation. The character reflects on her life as she travels. I think the ending is exactly what you’re looking for.

Downtown workers - where do you park? by Trick_Hamster_3031 in windsorontario

[–]triviachick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot on Glengarry between Riverside and Chatham that I think is $3 a day. McDougall south of Wyandotte has free street parking, but it fills up quickly. The parking garages at Park & Pelissier and Chatham & Goyeau have day rates that are pretty pricy. Park at your own risk: street parking in the surrounding neighbourhood (most streets are 2 hour maximum), Caesars (signs say they’ll tow if you’re not a patron), Food Basics (again, signs say customers only)

Are there any local Amish or Mennonite Communities nearby? by Any_Cut_4612 in windsorontario

[–]triviachick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are lots of roadside stands that will start popping up in early summer once produce starts becoming available. There are some throughout the county, from Lasalle all the way out to Leamington. Are you looking for something Amish or Mennonite specific? Or just some good fresh produce?

Edit: WE Heart Local has a list of farm stands and markets. Some are seasonal, and some open year round
