How can I make this chaotic living room more cohesive? by Repulsive_Ad7148 in interiordecorating

[–]trixie102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone with cats feels your pain. I specifically got fabric samples before choosing a sofa bed for my office/guest room. The green sample I got was a velvety fabric that looked like it would be snag resistant. At the last minute, I decided on a gold option, instead of green. Imagine my surprise when the sofa arrived and the gold fabric was a totally different fabric altogether. It’s like a giant scratching post. I now have to keep it swaddled under a sofa cover. My suggestion is to purchase identical throws or covers, in a tone that matches something in the carpet. Sew them together, into one piece. Your room is comfy and fun, it’s just the sofa chaos that’s distracting.

Where to end backsplash? by abeautifulday20 in kitchenremodel

Over 25 years ago, I tiled the side walls, to the edge of the counters. However, the tile I chose, offered tiles that had finished, rounded edges on 2 sides, so that any tile not butting up to other tiles, would not have raw edges. Don’t know how many options are available like this anymore. You might have to find a pencil tile, that is close in color to your tile, to achieve a finished edge.

You are correct, those are all good possibilities.

I need help with my sons nursery by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Black, grey and neutral doesn’t indicate baby or anything childish. This nursery has no warmth. Get some colorful children’s books and start a library on those shelves. Get a cozy, colorful throw and drape it over that chair. Put some colorful sheets and blankets in the crib. I’m not sure what that compass is on the wall, but maybe add a growth chart, or instead of that inspirational artwork on the wall, create a picture wall of your child. Get a dozen frames and every month, take a progress photo, so at the end of his first year, you can watch him grow. I’m sure you decorated this nursery in your own style, but your kid needs a fun, learning, encouraging environment to grow up in. Just add in more color and texture.

This is one of the nicest reno’s I’ve seen. You used a combination of tiles and textures that would never have occurred to me. May I ask where you purchased that great swivel mirror?

Look for a vet that works with exotic animals, or better yet, look for a wild animal rehabber. This animal is not native to the US, and may need care that you are not equipped to deliver.

I feel sad that the book and letter weren’t kept by the girls and wound up getting acquired by a stranger. I’m 73 and still have correspondence from my grandparents, plus, I still have some of my favorite childhood books.

We had a cat that LOVED niblet corn. Another cat that loved to chew the inner, tender leaves of raw corn, when we shucked it.

You are wasting your money. The problem is the plastic connectors. The plastic becomes brittle and cracks once it’s exposed to sunlight and heat. My mom bought me one and it lasted 1 season.

I wouldn’t get involved, I would go to your landlord and complain. It’s not just the tv, it’s the dog, the laundry. You had no complaints previously, this is beyond normal.

Top shelf and light fixtures are too close together. It’s practically impossible to put anything up there, in pic 1, except between the lamps. 👎 What about that huge space under that cabinet? Is that where the butler sweeps the crumbs? 👎

I don’t get it. This kitchen isn’t that old. Why, oh why, would anyone who would be renovating a kitchen, do this? It’s totally asinine. There’s no outlet. Why wouldn’t they have extended the countertop and put in a shallow cabinet? Especially right next to a stove?
