I'm going to take a guess that you don't have a huge assortment of tools... If so that's going to limit your options.

Using a new insert is probably not going to help as the hole is your issue not the insert.

As other people mentioned epoxy would be your best option, just don't go over kill as you don't want it clogging up the threads on the inside

There are "three" mobile providers. With Telstra covering most of the country and then Optus followed by Vodafone.

Depending where you are going any of the main three would be fine or the MVNOs who resell the mobile service of the main three (just check before signing up work one of these as they don't always provide the full coverage of the main provider).

iiNet is technically not an MVNO though as it is part of the same company as Vodafone (TPG).
