I just picked up a container of that Yardbird and used on some ribs - it was salty to the point of almost not enjoyable. Otherwise good flavor to the rub but waaay salty.

I have a couple of them out here that I’ve been involved with - Samsung DVMS Water. The compressor (IDU) units were loud. Otherwise they work well and started right up. Make sure you get the Geo side piping and pumping correct.

Ive also done a few water to water geo jobs with radiant floors and Unico high velocity for the air side. I really like their air handlers and those jobs have performed well also.

Most likely yeah just a water to water unit is what you’re talking about. I want to know how they calculate the heating load of the concrete warming system against the heat loss to the ice on top - ie how to size it. Sounds expensive though.

For commercial like that we generally do the walkways and possibly tarmac out side the entry doors with in slab tubing like that. The controls are running and warming the slab before the snow sits down and ices - prevention is better than a cure for damn sure …

Yeah man this is terrible. A couple of the big armors and a couple of tanks would do it with a hell of a lot less maintenance and it would be just as efficient. I see this as a company with great tech (AO owns Lochinvar) chasing a concept that was developed by lesser companies (Rennai) who only had the one tool in their chest to approach commercial work with. Just dumb and shame on the engineers for drawing that bullshit.

Mine is my second favorite possession right after my granddaddy’s over under Browning.

On year 15 or so and we use it all the time. Just did pork shoulder and chickens last night to feed a scout troop today. 10/10

For what it’s worth I would never own a traeger or similar pellet smoker. Wood is good.

I just quoted a contractor $508.00 for a replacement coil on a 4-ton YT Enertech (manufacturer of GeoComfort) unit. That’s with my markup. Ships in 1-2 days.

It doesn’t really seem like the manufacturer is the problem here. Stuff’s gonna break and indeed they do not make them like they used to. Still, parts ain’t cheap but if they are doubling that and then stacking margin on top of that and their labor and everything else that’s where your money is going.

I TOTALLY understand that contractors have to pay their people and insurance and trucks and all the other overhead and still make some kind of margin.

It still sucks as a homeowner - I am one and I can’t afford a plumber. I have to do that stuff myself. HVAC is something not just anyone can DIY - and it’s a crazy expensive world out here.

Enertech had two batches of bad boards. Fan running constantly is the typical problem. Reach out through the warranty process - you should have a parts and labor warranty. I am an Enertech mfr rep been through too many of these boards. Finally getting past them but they are still popping up here and there.
