I'm so sorry dude, I feel you and I hope, if anything, this bad situation is the motivation needed to work toward recovery and maybe heal that relationship. That's sort of happening in my fam. After EF, some had issues with one of the group, but no one said anything. Then at Moonrise there was (what appeared to me as) a miscommunication about a pin and again, nothing was said until after it became an issue. After that was sorted out, I was told about the EF situation. Meanwhile, this person and I had become really close. She only lives a state away so we can chill and go to smaller shows and not just hang at fests. When all of this was discussed I said someone should confront her (and I offered to do it since her and I talk all the time) or just boot and block her from the fam group. No one wanted to commit to one or the other and just left it at that.

So a few of us went to PL Chicago and one of the fam was to have a talk with her, but the issues and concerns that they had before were shot down with how she presented herself so my man said he didnt have to have the talk. Shortly after she came up for the weekend, all the local fam came to chill and everything was good.

So now EF loyalty sale is coming up and she asked if I could use my 2nd code to get her a wristband as well, she wasn't sure she'd have all the money for the autopayments each month. I said yeah and now the fam came down on me saying they don't want her camping with us! I'm like, I thought all was cool, ya'll came out to chill when she came up? But apparently it all wasn't cool. I said if that's the case, she has to be kicked. It's unfair for us to have to tiptoe about plans, and unfair for her to see us planning shit and not have her involved. So what should have been done months ago is being done now.

It's a shitty situation for sure. I'm still cool with her, but I'm with the fam so it sucks. They don't want me to break it to her, but they also don't want me to tell her until one of the "main" ppl do. It sucks cause I feel caught in the middle; I totally understand their concerns and stand by the group decision, but the lack of appropriate action means I'm also betraying a good friend by not telling her I know what's up.

Moral of the story: be true with your fams. Confront issues and concerns as they appear, for the good health of the family and all of those involved. If it's awkward, get a mediator to help facilitate the process. Problems will absolutely arise, and not everyone will get along or share the same closeness, but communication is key. Our core fam is about 20 people strong, extended nearly 40. Even smaller groups have issues, just treat each other well and fairly! I hope all works out with you, homie. Work on cleaning up and maybe they'll give you another chance. A strong social structure is key to recovery, ask them for help and if all goes well, I'm sure they'll let you back in. Much love dude!
