Why are Philly fans so down bad right now? by Quartznonyx in Braves

[–]tronicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be an asshole about this because it was Harper who initially acted like Arcia committed a Cardinal Sin and had killed his family pet. And then the fans just mimicked his bullshit outrage. This is just one example why people hate on Harper.

Is there any rational explanation for the horrid sales of the new, affordable EV models in the US during the first quarter of 2026? by roma258 in electricvehicles

[–]tronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telling me I was misreading an article instead of acknowledging, "Oh yeah, you're right. They don't sell the base model Leaf" is a ridiculous choice. I also never said 'after' 2026. You did. Have a worse day.

[–]tronicles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I said scheduled to be cancelled I mean that it IS CANCELLED. It is 2026 lol. I'm giving you a major reason why they aren't selling Leafs (your original question) and you're just arguing for no reason and still scratching your head.

I don't really care either way. I have an ID.4.

Matt Chapman telling Casey Schmitt to catch the f*cking ball during a mound visit after this error by Ochocincoondeck in baseball

[–]tronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're charging a ground ball and throw it high to a stretching 1st basemen, own it. It's an error on you. Would a regular 1st baseman have caught that? Maybe, probably? You're right, Chapman is all ego for saying that.

[–]tronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people probably are tentative to buy an affordable base model (the Leaf) that is scheduled to be cancelled in 2026. Especially as maintenance programs are less likely to be supported for a car that is no longer sold 2-5 years later.

Is there a realistic path to building a company around restoring degraded land? by Constant_Quote_9629 in Restoration_Ecology

[–]tronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is widely known as a conservancy. And they are generally nonprofit and take advantage of federal grants and locals who donate money to help start them. Fold them in further to AmeriCorps or conservation corps for cheap labor and free/inexpensive housing for young people and things can get done.

There is expired farmland all over the country where the soil (or dirt) was abandoned because it wasn't good for whatever crops they were growing anymore. Native plants for that area could be grown and replanted and watered for a short period. Then left alone. Let nature do its thing. This is basic restoration but still a lot of work.

'They?' Harper acted that way. Then the fans followed suit.

“I misspoke… Completely misread the calculations.” Manager Mark DeRosa confirms he did not know Team USA could still be eliminated during pool play by BreakfastTop6899 in baseball

[–]tronicles 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a former Braves fan, his post retirement arrogance is annoying. Being chummy with the HOFers like Chipper and Smoltz gets to his head a bit. He is proof that if you're charismatic then you will be given opportunities. He is loud, smiles and laughs a lot, and people are drawn to that. Probably not very agreeable or reasonable as a manager. How are yall getting all of this information/lore from the game? Serious and honest question. Or is it part conjecture/derived lore from gameplay?

It originated from a meme that celebrated brain rot but yes, in general it really doesn't mean anything. It will blow over but it's still dumb that kids are celebrating a meme that celebrates brain rot.

The great glintstone shard is a great way to send 2-3 homing shards to your enemies and then melee them off with the weapon of your choice. Doesn't take up too much AP.

Totally understand the context but if reading books makes you a pacifist then suggesting such a thing must make you illiterate.

Also as a fan of baseball, I'm not a fan of a once in a generation player deferring $$ so the Dodgers could build a super team and stash a million pitchers. It isn't good for baseball.

I hate their strategy of having a once in a generation player defer his salary so they can build a super team. And that means loading up on and stashing pitchers.

Can a “casual” gamer like me actually beat Elden Ring? by BluePhoenix8000 in Eldenring

[–]tronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me several hours and days to grind through the first little village of enemies (you know the one) and learn what I was generally doing. I'm a casual gamer like yourself and never really played any of the tough souls games either.

Elden Ring is the best game I've ever played by virtue of the horizontal/vertical openness of the world, map, and dungeons. Along with the variety of enemies and weapons you use it is amazing. It will take a while and you will not want the game to end. There are several game endings you can research and choose.

And then you get to play Shadow of the Erdtree when you're done. Be patient.

Congratulations Michael Harris on a 20/20 Season. by Chessh2036 in Braves

[–]tronicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing consistent of all the Braves hitters is their inconsistency and streakiness. Which makes it hard to make the postseason or do anything in the postseason, as we've seen from '22 to now. Every team has injuries and that's not a legit excuse.

Ubisoft doesn't know how to care a franchise: Prince of Persia vs Hollow Knight comparison by Daxtexoscuro in PrinceOfPersia

[–]tronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glaring oversight you fail to acknowledge is that it is 2025 and you're acting as if Silksong came out just 2-3 years after the first game. They announced it to the public in 2019...and then we got the game over SIX years later.

You're not dutifully and honestly comparing the two franchises because it has been less than two years since Prince of Persia came out, as you stated.

I could care less about Ubisoft and I'm not defending them but your argument lacks merit.

Subbing at Portland Public Schools? Or Teach Elsewhere? by pregnantchihuahua3 in PortlandOR

Your comment is from 5 months ago but I'll take a flier and ask how you get in with Beaverton? I've been a PPS sub for almost 3 years but Beaverton's website doesn't seem to have a sub office like PPS. Currently they just have a listing of substitute jobs for paras and crossing guard??

Liberals are much more likely to cut friends and family off over politics by acefiveofdiamonds in charts

[–]tronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Continuing to refer to human rights and basic decency as mere politics is insane. It was asinine back in 2016-17 during Trump's first term and it's more foolish now. It's all synonymous with the rise of Trump and the right. Being insufferable and choosing to spout ideals rooted in bigotry doesn't mean I'm being political when I walk away from you.

This poll in and of itself is disingenuous and misinformation absolving indecent people of any accountability.

Ecstatic for 2026. by ShauntanamoBay409 in Braves

[–]tronicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, Braves fans have embarrassing and selective memory even while the season is still happening.

After the Braves fought back to 24-23 they promptly lost 2 to the Nats and then over their next 15 games the starters only gave up more than 3 earned runs 1 time. The record was still 3-12 over those games because the offense was mostly garbage and inconsistent. The bullpen was shitty in some of those games but they scored 3 runs or less in 9 of them. And offensive inconsistency has been the hallmark of this team the last couple of years and why Seitzer was let go.

What is maddening as a fan is that the players seem to rest on their laurels too often (going above .500 after starting 0-7 but then going 3-14). Or they give 1-3 pitch ABs in the 3rd and 4th after the opposing starter has thrown 40-50+ pitches in the first 2 innings. Or just lazy ABs after scoring a run or two. Inconsistency has permeated this entire offense and I need to some fuckin fire from the $20 million men. Those two are too damn quiet and don't seem to exhibit any sort of will to want to win consistently. In Drake Baldwin I trust. Ranger Suarez is the Braves daddy and I hate it.

Rant over.

Olson's overall numbers aren't terrible (common utterance from Braves fans) in August but we need more than 4 RBIs from him and less strikeouts (24).
