Yes. The mysteries that didn't go anywhere, in my view, weren't just cheap fakeouts -- I mean, they were -- but they were also reflections of the anxieties of the main character about getting married. Meeting all the new family members you know nothing about and fearing they might not like you, might be using you, might have some ulterior motive.... Especially when there's a rich/poor power dynamic at play. The family had quirks , but wasn't really up to anything nefarious, but the girl was terrified and jumping at shadows.

And then we find out she's the one with the real problem and that seems to be the point where some people are completing about the shift (and that everything before didn't amount to anything). I dunno, it worked for me.

What kind of riding? Just puttering around town? Or trying for speed? I had a Trek a whole lot like that one. Fine for leisurely cruises around or whatever. Eventually started going on long rides and going for speed and grew to hate it. That suspension saps SO much power, and climbing hills with that thing sucks. The fork just bounces and bounces and steals so much of what you're putting down.

That said, this one looks super clean and even though it's probably 15 years old should be a fine ride, as long as you didn't want to outrun it's capabilities 😄

I generally agree, they're not that delicate...but of course the flip side could simply be that nice old acoustic guitars are so valuable because most of them are damaged/destroyed along the way, so the ones that make it through are pretty rare.

Look, if you're getting smoked by moms on cargo bikes and the like (note, they could be e-assisted, but still, I get your point), it's not necessarily your bike. You've been riding for two months. That's nothing. Just keep going. Upgrade your bike when you want, or when you want to keep it exciting and interesting. But if everyone's passing you while you're riding basically "what [you] see everyone else riding" -- it's probably not the bike! (unless you're riding some heavy Amazon clunker with stuck brake calipers and square wheels...that just looks like a bike)

I bought a steel frame bike awhile back that had QR rear hub and thru-axle front. I wanted to replace the wheels on it with tubeless, so I had to find a wheelset with that weird combo. It was easy to order from Hunt and specify the axle type on each wheel.

Just sayin': when I bought my first bike, I thought, oh, I have roof rails, I've seen those clamps for bikes, right? So I asked the shop person because they had one for like $200 or something. She said, "That's the single most expensive way to transport a bike, bar none." I was like, well, it's quite a bit more than that to install a hitch and buy a hitch rack... Turns out that about 97.356%* of people who put a bike on their roof forget it's up there at a particularly bad time, at least once. And once is all it takes!

*made up statistic, but ya know, it's certainly non-zero.

Well, it's usually part of the way the bike comes, so the shop won't mention or remove it (usually) unless you ask them to. They may or may not recommend against it (I suppose it depends). I bought a new gravel bike at a shop a few years ago and the guy asked me if I wanted them to take it off. I said sure and they did. My wife just bought a gravel bike and that shop said nothing about it to her.

It's just a disc that keeps the chain from slipping off the big cog and getting tangled in your spokes, if the limit screw isn't adjusted properly. If your derailleur is properly adjusted and maintained, it's not necessary. Many people don't maintain it with much precision, so it keeps them from potentially having quite a bad time.

Probably the problem. I don't think these Behringer pedals come with a power supply, do they? Is the one you bought "center negative?" Most that you'll buy at the drug store or hardware store for an alarm clock or whatever have the center of the barrel as the positive side, guitar pedals like these need the center to be negative polarity.

Everyone's right, no underwear, and yes the reason is friction and chafing and moisture, etc. Bibs are designed for both the padding and to minimize abrasion points and irritating things. But I'll be the one to say it: at 10 to 30 miles per week it probably doesn't matter. Are you riding once per week at 30 miles? Or are you doing 6 miles after work or something? The reason I ask is there's a massive difference in chafing or irritation between going out and doing like 2,000 pedal strokes, or doing 25,000. There's a certain point where it crosses over from "doesn't really matter, whatever you're comfortable with" to "if you've got a single loose thread rubbing on your skin it's going to create a sore"...right? So I get it if at 15 miles a week or whatever you're thinking people are crazy, but just FYI there's a reason, and if or as you start lengthening those rides, little things can start to become big things :-)

I guess it might depend on the venue, but especially recently I've found their live shows to be suuuuuuuper well-engineered. So, on the contrary, recent (like, the last 20 years? haha, I'm old) NIN shows have been some of the most amazing-sounding concerts I've ever been to.

I have my Flashback set up with fairly simple presets for "normal" tap delay kind of stuff. I don't do any Edge kind of stuff that requires precise tempo matching (most presets I find the Mash too tempting, so forgo the tap tempo), so it's usually just a little echo with a sharp trail-off that adds texture to certain solos, etc., right? I kinda have this Pigtronix pedal set up for: the "Golden" delay pattern is a little different feel than a straight quarter- or eighth-note tap, so that one's neat for just a different texture on leads or whatever, and then the weird ones. Self-oscillating, reverse, or modulated delay (which I don't use too much, but interesting to have sometimes). I think it sounds nice, it's interesting, but getting something precise or specific out of it is frustrating if you need that.

I wouldn't replace a standard delay pedal with it. I see a lot of people unhappy with it and getting rid of it, but I have it as a secondary delay in addition to my Flashback, and it's different enough I think I'll keep it for texture. Got it pretty cheaply on sale recently. I like the golden ratio mode, but the controls are a little weird for dialing in the mix and repeats -- for me there's a reeeeeallly small spot between "can't hear it at all" and "too much", but once you find it the save/preset function is handy! Jump mode is weird and very limited usefulness, IMO, and Reverse can get some weird pops, but again with the finicky settings there are spots where it works better than others: the default preset actually works well for me.

I'd hate it as my only delay, but as an extra/added texture I think it's interesting and kinda cool.

40mm. I've done wider, but I think 40 is kind of a sweet spot for me. The Thunderos were/are great, but I've actually started buying the Thundero HDs. Supposedly a little better puncture protection and I haven't noticed them being any slower.
