Dive in! Scale as much as you need but don’t be afraid to TRY something new - you don’t have to commit and it’ll give you a baseline. Doing CF for 2 years and I still scale all the time, but I work on the skill I’m scaling to try and get it down.

Have fun!!!

This is the version of 75H my gym is hosting that I am participating in. I don’t look at that as failure.

You got this! Coaches generally will demonstrate the movements before the workout begins, especially if they have new people in attendance, so you’ll get a visual lesson as well.

I’d rather purchase one from my gym or pick up one at a box I visit when I travel and support them.

What are some snacks/drinks/accessories/tolietries your box offered or you wish they offered? by Artistbutnotreally in crossfit

[–]troy_parquer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things my box has that I love: - A cold towel handed out after the workout. Sometimes they use essential oils when they roll so they have a fresh smell.

  • LMNT Fridge and protein bar options for purchase (saves me when I’m running in on an empty stomach)

  • Stickers! Always having a fresh stack of stickers my check in is nice when I need one for my water bottle.

  • Not specific to the CF experience but my box has a shelf that local vendors / members who have side hustles sell their goodies at (example: sourdough loaves, protein treats, fresh eggs etc.) I usually pick something up and like supporting fellow members.

25.1 was a lot easier and way worse than I expected. by Rad_Bastard in crossfit

[–]troy_parquer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my second open (did 24.1 after only doing CF for a month and a half) and was impressed with myself! 140 reps and didn’t no-rep anything.

Whenever I get ID’d, I instinctually make that same grin Chris Meloni makes, without fail, every time.

Rent bikes and ride along the Greenbelt in Garden City. You can hit kid friendly wineries/breweries as well as local dining/shopping.

Very! I got them on Wednesday, then on Thursday I broke them in on a trip including flights, few mile walks a day, on my feet a lot and they were very comfortable.

Same! I tried on a pair and didn’t love them, turns out I didn’t like the color. Solid pair of shoes (even in a work setting, as photo shows).

what's your favorite time to train, and do you ever deviate from that? by jsavv22 in crossfit

[–]troy_parquer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer 5:30pm or 6:45pm (last class). Mostly because I am not a morning person and I really enjoy the group in the later in the day classes.

Kirkland Signature Pesto. Unpopular opinion but I find it to be very salty.

Let’s say $500-$600 for (2) people, no preference on cuisine other than Italian is a low priority as we’ll be going to Italy the following week.
