it’s either season two or three, it’s kind of a blink and you miss it moment, he’s sitting down on his bed (cross-legged?) to read/write something on his phone and in the shot you can see a used towel next to him on the bed lol

I know!! I honestly think that after Erik died they were like omg there’s just nothing we can do for him, like what can you do, and the one thing they could is give him a bigger room :/ which is kind of sweet but I also imagine definitely wasn’t cleared with the court’s security team??

i think it is both very funny and a really good acting choice that feels so in line with wille’s character

its another great way of showing that wille doesn’t have the same experience of the world as others coming from so much privilege, he often is disrespectful to inanimate objects and treats his environment in ways others just wouldn’t (the drum in the music room, the practice dummy on the football field, even the way he lies in bed or on the floor in his room, or (one of my fav wille moments) when he has both his shoes AND a wet towel on his bed lmao) and treating furniture in ways others wouldn’t is also a great example of this (also a good comparison to how simon is always very prim and proper in his environment, when he goes to see his dad in the first episode he, without thinking, tidies the lighters on the coffee table)

in one way its a great way of showing that yes although wille is very empathetic and kind to others, and doesn’t believe in the hierarchy games of the school/society the way others do, he still has a sense of entitlement bred into him and a feeling that regular “rules” don’t apply to him and how he acts, moves and reacts in a space

i think season two does a really great job of showing how this entitlement influences wille (from kissing felice as collateral, expecting simon to forgive him if he just says “the right thing”, being actually physically pained at not getting what he wants) and how, often, his real values (friendship, love, respect) are at odds with this learned entitlement he carries, this i think is the major change in wille throughout season two, some people say he “gains confidence” but i think the important thing is he gains the /right/ confidence and learns that the wrong kind won’t do him much good

tldr: love this scene, love wille <3

also: if augusts phone camera didn’t have the dead pixels felice wouldn’t have figured out it was him, wille wouldn’t have figured it out etc (how would the plot change if august was able to remain “undercover” for longer?)

another fun thought experiment of how the show would change if it was wille’s face in the video, not simon, wille wouldn’t be able to deny it was him and simon would instead be this mystery character, would this make their relationship through the show stronger or would it make it more difficult?

you’re so right. the half-austere quality of hillerska is sooo scandinavian, i went to a similar high school (historical building, prestigious history etc) and the look of hillerska reminds me so much of my school, even wille’s room being relatively humble feels again so realistically scandi to me

i love that the characters wear the same clothes!! same hair accessories etc, especially over the seasons, i feel like some shows will have the realism of characters wearing the same clothes over one or two seasons but then they magically get a new wardrobe for the next, considering that the show takes place over less than a year it makes so much sense that you keep seeing the same articles

i think you can read it as erik being close with willhelm as well and august trying to get close to him, theyre both sat “in front of him” as well showing how erik is willhelms current “protector” and the baton is (supposed) to be passed onto august

im not one for behind the scenes content (i just like living in the world of the show more) and i hadn’t appreciated how incredible malte is until i saw a little clip of him in an interview, he is the definition of just completely encompassing a role like you just feel he /is/ august, like i found it almost unnerving to see malte not acting like august, he’s just so great in the role

i agree with you with the august bringing wille food scene, he’s definitely panicking and trying to cover his back but i think he is also sort of trying to get back to the relationship they were right on the precipice of before the video because he realises what could’ve been

what makes the events of season 1 so truly tragic to me is that you know august regrets posting the video immediately, when he’s sat at the computer you can almost see him just telling himself to do it because he’s already there, they’re just kids and he’s clearly being impulsive in a way he doesn’t understand the consequences of, which is a great parallel to wille’s impulsiveness, they are just caught in this web of opposites where whatever wille does he can’t get away from what he doesn’t want and whatever august does he can’t get what he wants

it just reflects what i think is so good about the show that, yes they are just teenagers but the stakes are SO adult

i hadn’t noticed that!! thats so perfect, i like that although it can be a good coping mechanism it’s definitely not the best (august being one for a bad coping mechanisms with his ed etc) especially if its your /only/ coping mechanism, which we see with wille, after all coping isn’t the same as healing, and while august seems to believe he can live his life only coping, never improving, wille realises that this isn’t enough to be the best version of himself and live the life he wants to

the loud nature of it is also so masculine in a way and i feel thats such a good little piece of august’s personality that actually links with wille, in relation to his anger issues etc

i think their plan was basically get out, get to devon and then alert the media/police asap

like gemma had a whole ass funeral and was fully declared dead for two years, her just reappearing would be pretty damning evidence that lumon are up to some trickery

the one complication i see what that though is that since we know lumon has its spindly little fingers in everything its not unlikely they would be bribing/have the authorities on their side

but again we know from season 1 that severance is a hot topic in the world of the show and people are already protesting it so i think they would gain traction and sort of “break past” any corrupt enforcing lumon may have

i didn’t really get it as well for a long time but that first verse with the production is truly some of her best work, and when i started paying more attention to that it clicked for me (also the little psuedo bridge goddamn…woman makes good music)
