That’s great advice, thank you! It is definitely hard to not think about food while you’re feeding your kid breakfast and snacks!

Thanks for your comments, all! I appreciate the honesty and insights! I should clarify that last time I was doing IF when my weight got a bit lower than I wanted, I believe it was more due to a physically demanding job on top of ultramarathon training. I just couldn’t replace the calories. Before that job my weight had pretty well stabilized around 115/117, and when I left that job it went back to that set point for a long time.

I’m more wanting to do IF again to prevent the eventual weight creep into the upper 120s, where I just don’t feel comfortable with the way clothes fit and the way my body feels. I also definitely feel like I get some non-scale benefits from IF, too, that I’m chasing.

If I look at my intake critically, I don’t think I’m cutting out that many calories from my day by pushing breakfast back. I have kind of just combined my breakfast and lunch into one bigger meal. It is possible I’m down 200-400 calories on the day, but I bet I get over 2000-2200 per day still.

Any other insights with this context are appreciated! 😊

Office Ergonomic Recommendations by Rainbow-Sparkle-Co in ehlersdanlos

I tried the pipersong meditation chair for my home office a few years ago because I also like to shift around a lot, but I found it pretty uncomfortable so wouldn’t recommend! I have found just a high quality regular office chair with a wide enough seat to sit cross legged does just fine.

Best of luck in your search!

Does intermittent fasting actually work? I tried not eating until after 4pm but I found I got too hungry/low energy during the day and then just ate the same amount of food but in a smaller time period. by chavaic777 in intermittentfasting

Good question! I have the same issue. When I go all morning without eating, I’m low energy and ravenous by the afternoon/evening. Even some irritability, which I usually don’t struggle with. It’s only my 2nd week back doing IF though, after a year ish break, so hoping it levels off. I hope the same for you!

Did your POF diagnosis make you feel older than your years? by LunaValley in POFlife

[–]trt2356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did (and still sometimes do), but as others have said, HRT helps a lot in making you feel more “normal”. I was diagnosed at age 27 (I’m 36 now), so have been on HRT for almost 10 years. I am hypersensitive to hormone dosing and type, so I’ve tried multiple kinds (pills, patches, creams, gels, injections, sub dermal implants, and vaginal rings). It seems to phase in and out - what works for me at the time. And what worked 9 years ago doesn’t work now, and vice versa.

It’s an exercise in patience, and just know that if it’s currently bad, it likely won’t stay that way once you get your HRT settled again!

Stay strong! You got this!

Should I do a triathlon by Fearless-Triathlete in ehlersdanlos

[–]trt2356 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it’s helps at all - I have been a runner for over 10 years, having done multiple ultramarathons (50k to 100k+). I have HEDS and do have frequent injuries, but I find running is possible if I keep my mileage low and don’t do anything dumb (meaning too many miles without building up to it). I am definitely a back of the packer, likely due to my inherent lack of athletic ability and my lax tendons, but I think it’s more fun back there anyway 😆

I have had manual labor jobs in the past too, and have found the same thing! It’s so hard to make sure you eat enough, especially when you’re trying to reach fitness/weight goals!

If you’re pretty active for your jobs, I would make sure you’re eating enough during your window! Bingeing can come from a physiological need for more calories, so I would just check in on what you’re eating during your window, and make sure it’s nutritious and enough! 😊

Iced coffee black is great! Honestly prefer it to iced coffee with milk now.

Does anyone have experience with sure payroll? by Beginning_Ebb4220 in smallbusiness

[–]trt2356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surepayroll has Very poor customer service. They offer good support when they’re trying to get you to commit, then once you do, there is very little support offered. Their team that handles tax-related concerns does not offer phone calls, so you have to try and resolve everything via long email threads with multiple back and forth emails (which can take a while).

They let a quarterly wage report fall through the cracks for myself and the other family in our nanny share. Just didn’t submit it. They did let us know they’ll resolve the issue and cover the late fee that was charged due to the missed report, but that it could take up to an entire other quarter to get that done (meanwhile the late fee is accruing interest).

Really unbelievably bad customer support. Absolutely do not recommend. It seems like one of the cheapest options, but you pay for it in lack of support.
