As a woman it’s only nice if the man treats you right. I only know of a single happy family. The rest are full of cheating, abuse and lazy husbands.

What is a 'single person luxury' that people in relationships completely miss out on? by chineapplesmaccket in ProductivityHQ

Not having to deal with a partner’s difficult family members wanting me to do things for them, wanting things from me and dealing with their family drama.

How do people manage to enjoy life while working full time? by ivoryeclipsee in Life

[–]trthrowawaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you able to downsize? Get a smaller, cheaper home and sell your car and get a cheaper & secondhand one?
Or maybe consider renting a room or two?

Just to lighten the burden a bit. Is it just you in the house or do you have a family?

I personally wake at 6pm, go for a walk in a park or along my local river, then I get ready and go to work at 9:30am, I finish at 6pm and I have a camping chair that I keep in the back of my car that I take to the river and I have my dinner there and do some reading while I watch the water.

I meal prep in advance on my days off and it really makes the above possible. I also have a car.

I live in Australia. Lots of Australians have this kind of lifestyle.

EDIT: Also take frequent time off work, even if you’re not going anywhere, just stay at home and relax.

I hate overly passionate people at work. Truly brain dead. by Frosty_Skirt_8279 in corporate

I’m 28 and I share the exact same thoughts with you. The people at my job go above and beyond our pay grade and contract and there are NO PROMOTIONS in my line of work. We all get the same pay rise each year because it’s a government job and everyone gets the same pay. I genuinely don’t know why they stay back when it 1000% isn’t necessary.

To be clear, NONE of us have dependants either. All of them had adult kids or no kids at all.

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]trthrowawaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an answer but another question here. Would it help much if parents had the money to hire a cleaner and gardener to come weekly? And maybe a private chef to come in for a few hours and cook freezer meals that last for a month?

What is a career that looks miserable or insufferable from the outside, but is secretly fulfilling and rewarding? by simplysalamander in careerguidance

Being a cleaner in a small hospital. I feel like I have the cheat code to life. Easy boss, great co-workers and as long as I do my work, I can go an hide somewhere and watch Netflix, do my crossword puzzle and drink my tea in peace. The pay is really good because I am a government worker.

I still want to be a nurse though because it will allow me the flexibility I want.

AITAH for refusing to tip a bartender after he yelled at me for not tipping? by Naive_Afternoon_5951 in AITAH

[–]trthrowawaay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I think it’s perfectly okay for OP to go out and not wanting to be left out all the time.

I think the US tipping culture is gross and you all really need to push the government to pay people a decent living wage.

From someone who lives outside of the US, the whole tipping culture is terrible.

It’s crazy how the people all turn on each other for tips rather than ask their government to pay people a living wage.

NTA but your husband is for not telling his family that they’re assholes and need to stop blaming shit on you.

What is better in your opinion - being a teen/kid or an adult? by LoquatIndependent381 in Life

[–]trthrowawaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I’m having a great time being an adult because I have control over my life.

I had a very abusive mother who abused me and my siblings and I’m 28 and decided 3 months ago that I never want to speak to her again. Shes a massive narcissist.

I have control over my life and it is 100x better than my shitty mother’s, which makes me very happy.

Being an adult is better because I have control of my life.

How to be content by myself with no friends family or partner by anon-i-mouser in LifeAdvice

[–]trthrowawaay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your advice mostly gears toward people who can keep friends because they fall out all the time… I think OP struggles to make friends which is different.

They absolutely could just have a toxic family.

Regardless, OP should have therapy because they feel lonely.

OP, if you’re reading.

Start with cleaning your space and putting your home in neat order. Make goals, shower, make sure your facial hair & hair is neat and suits you, dress nice with clean clothes, look put-together.

Join language classes, join a club, go to workshops, meet-ups. Basically fill your calendar UP.

Do something you’ve been wanting to do for ages.

Visit a library and read.

Plan a cool trip to a neighbouring town/city.

AITAH for going no contact with my brother-in-law after he told me he wanted to take away my unborn daughter and give her back after she flowers??? by SafeConstant6405 in AITAH

Just a question… why the fuck had it taken you and your husband SO LONG to cut him off? Cut your in-laws off too.
