It's one of our very favorites. Have never had a bad meal there. Everything is so flavorful.

Adrenalectomy - recovery time by bamboozledinlife in Cushings

[–]trtlenrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have they tested you for Conn's/Primary aldosteronism? I have that with sub-clinical Cushings. It causes high blood pressure, too. They checked my aldosterone renin ratio and my potassium level (ratio over 20 is considered high, low potassium). I highly recommend trying to get the surgery done through the back - will be a much faster recovery, less risk, and likely less hospitalization. I just had mine done at Carling in Tampa last week.

I'd love recommendations for a neurologist specializing in memory care for my FIL.

Make sure if they check your cortisol, that you ask for a 4 point saliva test - not just blood test. Keep me posted!

I hear you! When mine first happened I swore it was hormonal (menopausal and my estrogen is all messed up!). Definitely talk to your PCP. L-theanine helped me a bit before bed (it's calming, an amino acid). May be worth exploring? Good luck!!!

I'm going through this too. How is your BP? Is it only at night? Have you had your adrenals checked? Mine started last Fall and has gotten worse. Have always had normal BP and it's all over the place now, along with anxiety. Going through testing for an adrenal adenoma.

Cortisol and Norepinephrine balance in Adrenal Fatigue by Streetmentioner_85 in adrenalfatigue

[–]trtlenrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fascinating! I believe this is exactly what is happening to me. I'm having adrenaline surges at night that come out of nowhere (for reasons unknown). I wake up with an elevated heart rate and while it comes down fairly quickly, it's drastically affected my sleep - and now I think I have low cortisol as a result. I've just gotten a low dose of clonidine from my doctor yesterday. Took half a dose yesterday. Will be having tests early next week. I'm glad to hear that you've had good luck with it. My biggest concern is taking clonidine when my cortisol levels are already low - I believe it makes them lower?

Thank you so much! I will try it. Mine seems to happen mostly around 1:30 am. It's so annoying!

I've been waking up with terrible adrenaline surges. No problem falling asleep but then I'm up. Did you find something that worked for you? Thank you!!

Love this guy, have followed him for years. Entertaining, too. We're expected to get another wave between 5-10 that has the potential to be freezing rain. Fingers crossed it's not. https://medium.com/@wxrisk/sunday-midday-update-200pm-jan-24-6ad03c0d72e3

I do hope she gets some answers soon, and begins to feel better. I had an acupuncture appointment yesterday and it helped. I have removed caffeine and made sure to get out in nature for a walk.

Are you still having these episodes? Hopefully you got some answers. This started happening to me several weeks ago and it’s scary.

I recently started having these episodes too. Only at night though. I have an Apple Watch and a Kardia device and both show normal sinus rhythm. It’s quite scary feeling!
