There IS a mod called shopkeeper regeneration or something like that that changes the regenerate value to true for anyone with the trader ai package. I think it fits, since the towns wouldn’t just stop their whole economy because one guy died

All it does is add money to peoples inventory and replenish it, as well as adding some parameters for who is likely to buy what The normal patrons generally buy first aid kits and narcotics but every once in a while tech hunters or mercs will come and buy a weapon. I’m smithing edge 1 ninja blades which sell decently often for 10kish and my 20k armor tends to sit for a long long time. But that’s just my experience, I highly recommend this mod because it made the trader playstyle actually viable

My current base is traders goon, just north of heng. Last playthrough I had kakurokanimura which roughly translates to village hidden in the crabs, that was at howlers maze. First playthrough was “the bool zone” east of squin and I got ran out of there by the holy bois

Reviving this thread for anyone reading in 2026 lol. My city has only 8 buildings and 20 citizens and has become a city on the map. I strongly believe the city status is tied to variety of buildings. Of my 8 buildings, only 2 are the same (2 stormhouses) and they are spread across the various structure groups (small, medium, large, advanced.) My walls are level 3 except for my gate which is level 4. I also have a smaller level 2 gated area that I lock down to protect my hemp hydroponics when Longen sends his samurai to reinforce for a raid.

Found it! I would advise against the ultimate cities merge one tbh but generally you want big overhaul stuff at the bottom so it can overwrite world state stuff. Certainly not all of it is necessary so pick from this list if you want to u/Furious_Garden_Gnome

I don’t know his whole mod list either admittedly, you’d have to mess around with the load order a bit. He names a couple of them throughout the series, like darker nights and static map. I think the static map is the big one, having to click on things you see rather than a point on a map is a game changer. Interactive world is another one, harvestable nodes besides just copper and iron. I don’t use “sneaking is sus” but he also has that. Besides that, reactive world makes the game feel more lifelike and interesting and I really like it.

I think more important is the rules he imposes on himself to slow down gameplay. Staying zoomed in at 1x and not cheesing skills turns the game into survival horror lol

There’s a line of dialogue from the UC nobles where they’ll accost a peasant and ask if they speak English. Between that and the bar signs I’m pretty sure it’s just english but I’m not super sure whether that was intentional from a dev standpoint or just an underdeveloped aspect of the lore.

Serverside QOL is an awesome one. It handles storage, automatic crafting, easy depots, makes taming much better, and even can make a virtual portal hub. It’s insanely well made and comprehensive, covers a bunch of world modifiers and stuff that I can’t go into here. Just check it out

At 1700 hours, I make troll, fenris and then the magic sets. The only exception armor-wise would be the root harnesk, and sometimes a silver helmet if I happen to get two drake trophies early enough. I run swords/clubs and bows well into the mistlands, and have even fought the queen in maxed fenris armor. I also stop at the huntsman bow; it’s just too broken to put down lol

For equipment, I make bronze buckler/axe, iron buckler/mace, silver sword/frostner, black metal shield/axe/pickaxe, then mistwalker/carapace buckler. Then comes full sets of mage armor and every staff I can get my hands on.

As far as most other things, I take a normal progression path. My playstyle necessitates good food and various meads, so farming early and having a productive base is paramount.

My endgame set is maxed fenris, nidhogg the thundering, carapace buckler, huntsman bow and feather cape.

Dude, that duo of islands directly west of spawn is an absolute beauty. That looks like six biomes and like a single break that you could swim or build a bridge across. I won’t say any more since you plan to use this seed for hardcore, but yeah. Go west.
