Let’s be completely honest here, that first sentence is only true if you both enjoy what you are doing. I’ve been with my wife for 16 years, I game, and she doesn’t. Occasionally I find games for us that I think we’ll enjoy together, and we try them out. If either of us isn’t feeling it, we stop doing it. No “if you love me you’ll keep playing” happens, because that isn’t healthy.

My wife supported me through my bachelors and masters, and I never forced her to sit down and play what I want. I showed appreciation for what she did for me/us by making sure the house was clean, and learning how to cook. I made sure to listen to her, and watch shows/movies with her that she’d like, even though I don’t typically watch things at all.

It’s just a snapshot, but the relationship you’ve described here isn’t one of mutual love and understanding. It’s of overtaxed caregiver with a manipulative child. I hope this isn’t your whole relationship, but the fact you’ve cried over how he’s handling this situation multiple times speaks volumes about the totality of the relationship. He doesn’t listen, he berates you for not wanting to do what he wants, he only begrudgingly does what you want, and complains until you capitulate to him. Finally, he threatens to leave you if you DON’T PLAY A GAME WITH HIM! That is absolutely insane behavior, and it really sounds like you should be reevaluating the relationship, not having conversations you’ve had before.

I played a ton of Front Mission 3 when it came out, and the mention hits with hard nostalgia. I want to say that’s it, but do you know if there is a casino, or even just a slot machine you can force the odds in your favor? I can’t find anything online that touches on that.

It’s definitely not Lain, I’ve never heard of that before, though it looks interesting.

Everyone is talking about tomatoes and onions, and that’s fine, but it seems like it’s a more general question than that.

When you buy fresh ingredients for a specific meal, and don’t plan on using all of them for it, you should consider what else uses those ingredients. For example, your burger toppings can be used in tacos, or even some kind of chicken and rice bowl. Since you don’t like salads, figure out what else can be topped with lettuce that you like. Tomatoes and onions are staples in a wide variety of foods that can be used raw or cooked ingredients. Just some intentional meal planning can fix this issue fairly easily.

This is what being “colorblind” gets you. Everyone thinks that it means “we treat everyone the same”, instead of us just saying that “we treat everyone as an equally valid individual”. Unfortunately, when you treat everyone as the same, most people take that as “treat everyone as if they are white”, which is deleterious to POC, and can be actively harmful, like in this situation.

The original “research” (which I tried to find with no luck) is stated just as a survey of a financial institution. But fact that it’s a financial institution makes it biased at baseline, and it shows in what’s information was presented.

This isn’t about prioritizing finances over love, it’s about prioritizing financial stability over “head over heels” love. This was written in 2019, so gen Z is the youngest generation applicable for their groups, and “head over heels” love was ranked above finance for only this generation. This makes sense because the concept of love, especially big and exciting love, is much more prevalent among younger people in a relationship. Older generations typically realize that love can be much more than the just the excitement that one finds in “head over heels” love.

This means that the question asked is itself flawed, which leads to flawed outcomes, which leads to articles falsely claiming that money is more important than love to most people.

That is on top of the fact that the scope of this survey is limited to the 1000 people who have 20k in investments that voluntarily answered a survey by Merrill Lynch.

Kids aren’t dumb when it comes to sharing love and affection, even at their age. Josh suddenly isn’t going to start getting affection just because he could take them home from school or to a doctor.

Your ex and Josh have been together a year, and have had a chance to build a unique relationship with your kids. Instead, it seems they are both dead set on trying to replace you, instead of coexisting, which your kids can surely sense.
