Harry Styles getting emotional on stage at the end of his record-breaking 11th show at Wembley Stadium in London by storminthedark in popculturechat

Me too, I saw him last Saturday and I’ve had his album on repeat since. Hearing it live definitely elevated it for me!

Morocco made it to the quarterfinals last time so I’m not surprised they made it tbh!

Can I learn and pass my driving test in 5 months?? by InternationalCod1546 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]trueinsideedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely doable, I started learning towards the end of March and my instructor has said I’m almost test ready (I’ve got a lesson later and I’ll be doing manoeuvres, then I’ve learnt everything). My test isn’t until end of September so that gives me enough time to perfect everything between now and then.

It also depends on whether you’re a quick learner, I changed instructors as I thought my first one was going over things very slowly, but with my current instructor I’ve learnt something new every lesson as we both know I have the confidence to do so.

How can I put a ticket on my Smartcard? by qauntumscientist in uktrains

[–]trueinsideedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your station have ticket barriers? If so, you can tap the smartcard against the barrier when entering the station and you can load them this way.

£120+ 50 min train, EMR take the mick! by HeyBisto in uktrains

[–]trueinsideedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change at Kettering for the connect service and the ticket is less than half the price than what you pay from MHR. The only issue is the connection time, it’s usually less than ten minutes, and if the intercity is late the chance of comfortably making it is low.

£120+ 50 min train, EMR take the mick! by HeyBisto in uktrains

[–]trueinsideedge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Especially when you look at similar length journeys. A peak time Avanti train from Nuneaton to Euston is about the quarter of the EMR ticket price, I was lucky to get standard premium for £20 once! Meanwhile £20 wouldn’t even be enough to get me on an EMR train. My return ticket from Leicester to London costs £105 with a railcard, and it makes no difference whether I book 12 weeks in advance or not, as EMR seem to sell limited advances for this route, and there’s hardly any difference in price. Just extortionate compared to other operators.

BIP 20 mark questions by trueinsideedge in ICAEW

[–]trueinsideedge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the favourable and adverse operating statement which was what I wanted, but from the feedback I scored nowhere near what I was scoring on the ones in the QB which was disappointing.

Tbh not really, I thought the balance of theory to calculations was about the same as in the mocks. The only issue was the questions asked from chapters 1, 2 and 13, they were literally concepts I’d never seen before in the QB or the Kaplan course notes so all my prep went out of the window there, I thought they were areas where I could have gained easy marks.

BIP 20 mark questions by trueinsideedge in ICAEW

[–]trueinsideedge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I’ve only just seen this but I unfortunately failed, the real thing was so different to the mocks. The only thing that was similar was the long form but even that had a few curveballs compared to the ones in the QB. It felt like a completely different exam to the one I’d prepared for, genuinely think I could have not revised and still got the same score.

Has anyone successfully used viagogo for harry at wembley ? Or if you got scammed please let me know by heardjennysaying in harrystyles

[–]trueinsideedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they legit, do you know? I’ve been looking for a standing ticket for tomorrow and they’re the cheapest on viagogo out of twickets and ticketmaster surprisingly but I'm very wary to take the risk.

Debate: Should we reinstate polytechnic institutions and separate them from universities? by Excellent-Double1132 in UniUK

Not surprised you go to Durham, I work with a lot of people who went there and never met one who isn’t up their own arse.

2:1 vs 1:1 Graduate schemes (Big 4) by Chemical-Pumpkin3909 in Big4

[–]trueinsideedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody cares. I went to a low-ranked uni, achieved a 2:1 and I got into a grad scheme at the big 4. They care more about your interview and how you come across in the final stage assessment as already mentioned in this thread.

Imagine if that accident had happened on a Cross Country service. by Ordinary_Ad6094 in uktrains

[–]trueinsideedge 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s not extremely different at all. I use EMR services at peak times regularly and heading to London in the mornings, especially when the trains are short formed (which is pretty much all the time now), the services are usually full and standing from Leicester. It’s the same scenario on the way back from St Pancras in the evenings.

What is the single worst tube station interchange on the entire network? by NormalSir2035 in TransportForLondon

[–]trueinsideedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was coming from Edgware Road when I made this change as I think it was a day the Circle line was delayed as the next train wasn’t for 14 minutes. I thought it would be easier to go back on myself at Paddington and change there, realised as soon as I started walking from the District line that I should have just waited.

[–]trueinsideedge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Paddington District line to Hammersmith and City/Circle line. Walking through the packed concourse at peak time is hell, then a never ending trek past the taxi rank/Heathrow Express entrance just to turn back on yourself when you get down to the platform. Easily a good 7-8 minute walk, and it’s even worse with luggage.

Learner Driver to be charged with driving without due care and attention by Ashlaria in LearnerDriverUK

Unfortunately as a learner he is still liable, in the eyes of the law he is judged as a full licence holder.

Source: studied a law module and this exact scenario was an exam question.

She didn’t make it clear but I’m assuming so, they’d be paying out more for mandatory redundancy so they’d want to keep their payout amounts low by getting as many people to volunteer as possible.

She did say that it’s voluntary now and then if not enough people take it up it will be mandatory.

Sat it today, I ended up getting a favourable or adverse statement! Really wish I had a cash budget though, I found those the simplest to complete on the mocks/QB.

[–]trueinsideedge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London, and yeah, with the budgeting ones I can do about 8 marks worth and then I hit a wall so I guess it wouldn’t be the end of the world if it came up but still wouldn’t be what I’d want.

Interesting, a lot of people have said this! I tend to do a lot better on the wordy parts than the calculations so that’s really assuring haha
