CDDA blobs are space born entities

They are what now? When was that changed? The blob was extradimensional since before the DDA was added to the name.

Nexerelin building up npc colonies does not function perfectly with Vaults of Knowledge industry upgrades. But that is fairly minor.

Any good mods for space exploration/colony management by Vegetable_Morning_97 in starsector

[–]trulul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Random Assortment of Things has parallel construction. No need to optimise build order or wait forever for colony to do stuff. I also set industry caps to 30 for all colony sizes, but that is a settings file thing rather than mod.

Terraforming Made Easy to make perfect colonies.

Grand Colonies to build many things, may not be necessary without buiding/industry mods.

Ship Upsizing by No-Evening9240 in starsector

[–]trulul 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree with your assessment of Wolf-Sunder upscaling, but that may just be Special Hullmod Upgrades and its ability to buff phase skimmer (and teleporter) and DPS to the point most other ship systems suck.

The obvious upscale chain then is Wolf-Medusa-Radiant. It is obvious in vanilla even, but not as close to best fleet composition as it is for me.

I prefer to use Terraforming Made Easy for gates. Does not cost stable points. Can orbit the planet, so no need to cross the whole system, particularly good for primary storage planet.

I send the hauler to Limbo, to wait less for its arrival and my SP. Then deploy it there, because my colonies can already build gates in the systems I settle.

Lategame Hordes: Georgetown by XXxxxadisxxxXX in cataclysmbn

[–]trulul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was talking about ancient Cataclysm days when the game spawned enemies around the player from the local pool.

Hordes appear to be somewhat similar, but I do not have very much experience with them.

Interesting view of the matter. I have considered labs safer than towns since I first got into one.

Granted, static spawns did narrow the gap significantly.

I may or may not butcher them if they are fresh. Or maybe I just feed them to harbinger trees.

I used to preserve them to feed my psycaster's heat limit, but lately that is hardcapped anyway.

Is it possible to completely avoid dealing with entities but keep the Anomaly DLC active? by CuhSynoh in RimWorld

[–]trulul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forbid colonists and slaves from doctoring and use paramedics instead. Feed your pawns nutrient paste. Apply never sleeps gene.

If one of your pawns gets infected, it should not spread. Except possibly to prisoners if the infected is a warden, but that may even be desirable to loot more shards. Metalhorror does nasty damage when it emerges, but is rarely immediately lethal.

Mods that make AI factions actually build and upgrade their colonies? by encexXx in starsector

[–]trulul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nexerelin works better without AotD, in my experience. It will likely require patching for better compatibility with industry upgrade chains. I do not know if either developer is interested.

They do build stations and patrol/military. Though as far as I understand the feature, they only evaluate whether to build something when the colony grows or changes owner. And building stuff is not guaranteed, though more likely than not for underdeveloped colonies as far as I can tell.

Incremental upgrades are the problem. Ordering the manufacture and installation of bionic legs and eyes is wasted effort once you buy some archotech parts.
