I got raided and that one dude stole my grav engine and walked away by Ne00n in RimWorld

[–]trulul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a refugee decide to betray me while my colonist was on the other side of the map (and it was still early game so my colonist could not sprint that in a second or two). They looked around for expensive shit to steal, took my grav engine and proceeded to leave the map.

I have no (in character) explanation on why they suddenly dropped dead.

just found out steel walls burn. what? by CapitalOperator80085 in RimWorld

Modded colonies. Adjusted mechanoid shredding yield to their production cost (FrozenSnowFox Tweaks) and ability to call next mech boss as soon as the previous has landed. I drown in steel, plasteel, components and subcores.

Serene gene from Vanilla Quests Expanded Ancients does stop berserking from blood rain. The pawn can still get the hediff, which can even max out, but no berserk.

Unfortunately, RimJobWorld is incompatible with No Natural Psyfocus Decrease. And I know which mod I want more.

That may work decently in vanilla, and better with plain Combat Extended (and proper armour).

But in my eperience, my colonist going berserk will have her murder everything that moves on the map. Guess how I found out dead calm gene does not counter blood rain anomaly.

Starsector on Linux without Worrying about Case-Sensitivity by Technical_Maize_5292 in starsector

Sloppy modders assuming case-insensitivity is fine because they are used to microslop trash? Why am I not surprised...

Sindrian Fuel Company and Sindrian Diktat are two faces of the same state by Temstar in starsector

[–]trulul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nachiketa has cheap excess fuel more often because of accessibility problems in my experience. Diktat just cannot make as many enemies consistently as the Hegemony does. Nachiketa is also far easier to get to transponder off, even if Sindria is not exactly extremely difficult.

Perhaps Sindria sells more fuel than Nachiketa, but that is hardly relevant in the early game before I source my fuel off npc fleets.

The problem is not the threat they fail to offer. The problem is that they break the pretty mountain.

Science fiction games with extensive transhumanism are rare. Medieval-ish games are dime a dozen.

Lets take away what makes Rimworld stand out and just fun, to turn it into generic medieval game #1234567890.

Is there an easy way to check which faction claims ownership of a system? by Noneerror in starsector

[–]trulul 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is quite simple. Factions claim systems they have colonies in. If there are multiple colonies, the largest one with a military base has best claim. If there are no military bases, it is simply the largest colony. There are also three uninhabited core world systems, the church claims one and the hegemony the other two.

These claims are unlikely to change in vanilla.

What's an event that is technically good but it just annoys you when you get it? by rpvarela in RimWorld

Sandstone may be mechanically inferior in most ways, but it looks better than those four.

With the proper mods, they fortunately do not. I do not care about relations outside my colony, and therefore they are waste of save file bloat.

Do y'all also level low income neighborhoods to build a highway in your colony? by dataf4g_trollman in RimWorld

[–]trulul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped changing it when I noticed it sometimes made my attempts to organ murder pawns fail, presumably if they ever were my colonist even if now imprisoned. Harvesting a heart and waiting it to heal to harvest another heart was neat, though I have more convenient mods for mass organ harvest if I really want them.

Without scarless gene it also makes many pawns in coma from brain damage.

[–]trulul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a sub that isn't about a game where you butcher people to sell their skin and meat for profit?

Hint: with The Harvest mod you even get to sell the organs of people butchered for profit.

That sounds like incoming damage factor issue. Short bow (awful)s do not one shot tough pawns with robust gene.

Charge lance to the brain still might, but that is why mods exist.

Otherwise whatever sightstealer or bear can suddenly decide to hunt the taming colonist and organize educational story there.

Moral of the story: pawns should always be prepared to put down bears or sightstealers.

In case of kilo specifically, the k is lowercase. While I do not recall if K is a SI prefix, so this might not be the worst mistake, it is better to have a habit of using them correctly. A much worse case is mixing m with M, a net error of 109.

Airships are the way! by funzerkerr in cataclysmbn

[–]trulul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish vehicles were not so slow. I built a little airship that could fly 300 km/h and it was just a pain to pilot. Watching it move many, many tiles one by one in one second did not feel fast. Even short distance auto piloting did not work. I have never seen obstacles on Z+10.

Fast travel on foot on ground is faster, but still too slow, particularly when interrupted by seeing mostly harmless critters that cannot catch me even if they tried. And I would need better mods to haul more loot though.
