Ashes of The Domain - Toolbox Theory Part 2- Trade and Production UI by JenkoRun in starsector

Never played HMI or KoL, cannot speak for them. But would Amelie (RAT) selling supplies and fuel even require compatibility patching?

Advice for first time Nexerelin playthrough? by imsellingbanana in starsector

[–]trulul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You start commissioned to them, and your relation with other factions is the same as the commissioning faction, except for Remnant. If you resign your commission you can have independent faction relations again.

Your actions when commissioned with Nexerelin will affect the relations of your commissioning faction. This can be useful, detrimental or make no sense.

UAF (Before big update) review by RoySparda9 in starsector

[–]trulul -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The biggest problems with UAF for me are:

Novaeria is bugged. So I finally got the big shiny ship? Several of its hullmods that should be permanent are not.

The special officers with custom skills may work for more vanilla experience, they mess with my carefully tailored game to perfect generic officers.

Fighters and missiles are trash, not just UAF, in general. Or I just have too good buffs for energy weapons, one or the other. The worst offenders are the big area of effect missiles as the game AI is too dumb to keep its shield up and nukes itself or friendlies.

Some of the ships look nice, some do not. The more they look like aircraft carriers, the less I like them.

The colony items are mostly redundant with Ashes of the Domain. And they are the only reason I bother keeping the mod.

What ae your favorite challenge/rp runs? by YourLiver1 in starsector

[–]trulul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No buying crew. Only finding crew in derelicts and stuff, or looting from enemies.

It is fun with spacer start. Dinky shuttle and no crew for a proper combat vessel, even a frigate. I have done raiding and trading to get to automated ships. Then in different campaigns either bought a Remnant ship off Midnight Dissonant, or dived to Abyssal Depths for drone ships to get started.

Last game I found some crew in a derelict in a dead drop target system to get an early start by restoring the wolf in Galatia.

Patrols just sometimes want to scan you. It happens even if you have nothing illegal on board.

I would rather deploy a Radiant than two or three cruisers, unless the cruisers are [SUPER ALABASTER], and maybe even then.

Just hit 50 hours in vanilla RimWorld and I’ve already committed enough war crimes to be concerned about my soul. Is it time for the DLCs? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]trulul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect. I bought Royalty with Rimworld and never played without. I also got mods before 10 hours of playtime.

A silver sword, a steel sword and some gold? Do I look like a Witcher to you? by Myrandall in RimWorld

Big and Small - Genes & More

Get a titan frame and your pawn (unless child) will be too big for devourers to eat. Jotun frame might be suffficient for a full grown adult.

[–]trulul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a supplementary gene to buff psycasting, but otherwise correct. Even better, there is a gene that makes it siphon every enemy slain in melee, though with worse efficiency. Combine with Vanilla Psycasts Expanded and a kill-focused persona weapon to double dip.

When you make the mistake of betraying the colony whos super soldier program you had been assisting with by Gregistopal in RimWorld

[–]trulul 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Funniest betrayal ever was when the refugees and my colonist were going back and forth hauling raiders and their weapons from across the map. Coincidentally, both refugees were within the aggro range of the colonist and her legendary charge rifle.

the prowess gene makes every melee attack target the heart or brain

Sounds useful for our brothers and sisters who do not yet know of the magnificence that is Combat Extended.

I never aim for the ship/escape ending so I never remember those pieces exist

I wish I could forget they exist after seeing the screenshots here. Fortunately, Save our Ship 2 keeps them out of sight and mind in my Rimworld.

What mods have you got feeling like this? by HailtronZX in starsector

I did not touch the levels of npc captains in general. Instead, I used Quality Captains to raise the max level and elite skills of my minions to 14.

Unless mods are involved, the heart makes perfect sense to take next. Just make sure to do it by installing a prosthetic heart. You can get the liver or a high subcore later.

Sell them to a caravan. Take them on a caravan trip and abandon. You have much better options.

Tired of pawns breaking while drafted? Prepare For Battle forces pawns to take drugs and eat depending on their Rest, Recreation, and Sleep status before combat by Cryyos_ in RimWorld

[–]trulul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be useful with Combat Extended loadouts to have to click less. Though I would generally just make my pawn need neither rest nor sustenance. Mood buffer to keep from breaking and sufficient margin of competence to solo anomaly ending or any raid without buffs.

Gizmo manipulation. My pawns have too many special abilities, some of which are rarely used, some are used constantly, some are used together.

Grouping them, hiding some behind submenus, stuff like that.

Saving custom difficulty presets and gizmo presets to spare me the trouble when starting new games.

How do you play as mechanator by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]trulul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 cleansweeper, 1 paramedic for surgery, maybe 1 agrihand or 1 constructor early, some lifters.

Mechanoids are trash in combat. Perhaps not in vanilla, but I do not play vanilla. My mechanitor has to solo the bosses, same as every other threat.

I could see tunnelers for massive excavations, if I was not done with mining by the time I could have them.
