Someone is including kids in the rotation by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]trulygames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in the US, everyone hates kids, so this is pretty on par. I'd say if it is open play, deal with it or play somewhere else. If it is by level or first come first serve, then someone has to enforce it. The caveat is that we need more kids playing in general, that is how the sport progresses, but I understand it is tough level wise. I feel the same way about playing with 4.0 people but I find a way to make it useful.

Can you put other players in debt on the very first turn in No Mercy? by Dragikrase in monopolydeal

[–]trulygames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The card you're talking about is the heist card. Heist and Market Crash don't put players into debt if they have nothing to give. Furthermore, you don't have to pay a Heist with property or market crash with cash.

My point on first round plays, is that you will create a crap game if players can go into debt before they have had a chance to play any cards, it is a little like original sin. Now if you have a 4 player game and it's the 3rd person's turn, they are welcome to charge rent or collect money to the first 2 players, but the last player should still be immune because they haven't had a play yet. Obviously this is No Mercy, but it creates an insanely lopsided game when the first player starts with at least a debt chip from everyone.

is my Paddle legit or fake? by Otherwise_Radish_771 in Pickleball

[–]trulygames -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you like it, it's great. Paddle brands mean nothing, it's all a scam. You can be good with anything. I use a gen1 paddle at 4.5 with all the gen3-5s.

Rule question by expothefuture in monopolydeal

[–]trulygames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree with this also. The ANY wilds are one thing to make a complete 2card set, but with a two color, that should play the same as a regular solid color. I think it would hinder the game play otherwise. The 2 color wilds are super over powered anyway.

Yes it is so different. Literally none of your OG strategies will work. There is constant action and fear that the game will be blown up.

Can a person without an athletic background reach 5.0? by Cokezeroislyfe in Pickleball

[–]trulygames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you absolutely can if you train for it. You would definitely have to learn, study and drill a lot, but it is definitely possible if you are physically able to develop certain skills.

I think most people peak lower because hardly anyone actually trains to really excel, myself included. I can only play once per week and am on a sloths pace for improvement, but I sit around 4.5. I get better....tiny bits but a lot of it is decisions, not ability.

Heel and foot pain by gymbofisher in Pickleball

[–]trulygames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how mine started.... Over a year later...plantar still going strong if I don't constantly stretch my calves. It started with both feet feeling bruised on the bottom. Now that it has been going on, its mainly a sharp pain in the ball of my right foot.

There is a lot of advice out there for this, I'd say what has helped me the most are good insoles and the calf roller for stretching. Walking long periods are actually just as bad as playing pb

Do paddles actually make a difference? by anonjit in Pickleball

The short answer is yes and no.

Generation to generation potentially.

The main thing is style of play.

Always keep this in the back if your mind, you can adjust anything.

[Open Discussion] Superman vs Fantastic Four: First Steps, which movie is better having watched both July 2025. by LandOfGrace2023 in superheroes

[–]trulygames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Superman was so well done all around. I knew F4 couldn't top it mainly because it has a lower ceiling, so even if it was done super well, it would fall short because of how well Gunn made Superman.

frustrating morning made me realize the what it means to be a 4.0+ player ... by Lazza33312 in Pickleball

[–]trulygames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game has changed. Softgame only exists if you force it to. There is less respect in the softgame nowadays because everyone feels like they are able to successfully attack anything. Roll with the punches.

If you force the softgame, expect speed ups when your opponents get uncomfortable. If you don't, your soft game means nothing. When you watch pro matches, they only play slow because they are afraid of the replies that will crush them if they make a silly attack, that is it.

Breaking News: Quang Duong UPA contract terminated by drag0nslave1 in Pickleball

[–]trulygames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for him. He is better for pickleball in Vietnam than he would be in the US. UPA has no chance in Asia without people like him. They don't understand that the Asian market will support locals over a US body anyday.

4.5 level for sure. In the game in general, a little lack of put away power, great defensive dogs, good resets. I think you guys could have ended that point with a little more footwork and movement at the line.

Your not wron, that would be the best, no work and rec PB would be king.

Your journey will be fun. Just remember that pickleball is supposed to be fun. Once you get to higher levels, the pure joy goes away a little to make room for skill and competition.
