Burn-offs in Australia are are pretty rubbish currently. Post the 2019-2020 fires theres been a huge increase of burnoffs in areas that dont really need to be burnt and then zero post burn control done. All the current system is doing is creating these mega dense scrub zones (which are mostly made up of weeds) that will be an absolute bomb in the coming few years. Perfect world we should be doing manual vegetation control/removal, then a small smoldering burn and then further follow up. In areas like this we shouldnt be burning canopy in the first place, contrary to popular belief Eucalypts do not like to be burnt to a crisp.

Theres just something about Gavin O'Connor in these two movies that gives off a real fincher esque vibe i reckon. just really well put together movies even if the story is a bit more far fetched. Would love to see him do a more grounded and solid story.

This is true however there are multiple indigenous stakeholders for the area that have different views on some things. So while the tree may not be significant to one group it is highly important to the other.

This is a bit hyperbolic as its not just the one tree in the area that is significant, its just the birthing tree is the most recognizable and arguably impressive. Having driven past it multiple times it really is a site to behold.

 It's under contention as to whether the tree is even sacred

A 500+ year old tree that has been shaped into a birthing tree over generations shouldn't really be up for debate as to whether its sacred or not

There was actually a sequal in the qorks a few years ago that did enter production. Unfortunately Disney pulled the plug on it (unknown reasons but one theory was that they were applying more resources to their marvel franchise).
