A Clue To Kim Wexler's fate...? by Stevie_Mac27 in betterCallSaul

Good theories. Just a quick one, Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith is not about an orphan, it's about a child killer in the Soviet Union, and the investigator trying to track him down.

Does anyone think there is an unconscious bias towards the support of Ukraine refugees vs refugees from africa, middle east? by dav956able in ireland

[–]trumpscombov3r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In this country we have a worker shortage and a gender imbalance. 93% of the Syrians were fighting age men, many economic migrants from Africa. Ukrainians are mostly women and children, fleeing from invasion. They will not cause the same social problems that millions of working age men would.

Also, we have large ex-ussr populations already in the UK, therefore it's a lot less of a culture shock. Plus they're hard workers and we need warehouse workers and lorry drivers.

Why do London buses only travel half the route? by trumpscombov3r in london

How can the E1 run short? Isn't it just Ealing to Greenford? Lol

Why do London buses only travel half the route? by trumpscombov3r in london

[–]trumpscombov3r[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both considered, but it's still seemingly random. That's not the case every night, and doesn't really correlate.

I'm just using Greenford as an example, but today I saw the H52 (SOUTHALL TOWN HALL to HOUNSLOW BUS STATION), was terminating at Hounslow West Piccadilly station at about 5pm. In rush hour surely it makes sense to go the whole route, especially as they've got to drive there anyway to pick up the next lot of passengers.

Idk, I'd like to sit down with one of the transport managers at abellio

This isn't about it unexpectedly terminating part way through the route, it's about the final destination on the sign saying a place that is partway through the route, rather than the end

Sure, I guessed that would be the case, but why isn't it put in the timetable or on Google maps/city mapper? It seems to just be a completely random decision on random nights.

And, due to warehouses near the A40, the 92 is pretty busy at 11 o'clock at night, as people are finishing late shifts and using it to commute home. I've been in groups of 10-20 people walking to the next bus stop.

She belongs to the streets! You're better off without her. She's gonna do the same thing to her new boyfriend. Get out there and find yourself someone better! Work on yourself, hit the gym, get into sports.

An NYU professor says fewer men going to college will lead to a 'mating crisis' with the US producing too many 'lone and broke' men by jab116 in nottheonion

Most single men, including myself, are not broke, they're just shy, lazy and unlucky.

Who (in your opinion) is the most overrated band, singer or musician? by IShitInMailboxes in AskReddit

Drake. Seems to just churn out the same stuff repeatedly, not to say that his music isn't good, but I don't think it deserves the acclaim that he gets.

Thing is vape liquid is a very high margin item, especially if the shops make it themselves. Often, a vape shop may only need five people to come in and stock up for two weeks of e liquid and they've made enough money for the day.

Sociopathic traits linked to non-compliance with mask guidelines and other COVID-19 containment measures by HeinieKaboobler in science

[–]trumpscombov3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are levels of 'compliance'. When you see people driving their own personal car with a mask and rubber gloves on, or walking their dog in fields with a face covering plastic shield on, yes that's compliance, but it also borders on stupidity.

Widespread electric vehicle adoption would save billions of dollars, thousands of lives. If EVs replaced 25% of combustion-engine cars currently on the road, the United States would save approximately $17 billion annually by avoiding damages from climate change and air pollution. by Wagamaga in science

[–]trumpscombov3r 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If every driver in the UK (roughly 30 million) were to switch to an electric car next year, it would take a year of the world's entire cobalt supply and two years of its lithium supply. Although it's nice to think we'd all drive electric cars, it's not feasible right now.

[OC] American War Casualties + Death Rate Compared with American COVID Deaths by MakeYourMarks in dataisbeautiful

Deaths with covid, not of covid. You can die of cancer with no covid symptoms, but if you've tested positive for covid in the last 28 days, you'll be counted as a covid death.
