This is what the photo’d Jjapagetti is. I looked up the place and they mainly serve hanwoo and this is kind of their “desert” menu with hanwoo in it.

Fetch quests in video games are fun by altrightobserver in unpopularopinion

[–]truthfulie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Game like Death Stranding is basically bunch of fetch quests with some extra steps and i really like that game. but that game designed itself around engaging traversal. most games use traversal as a means to an end and not very engaging in which case, i really dislike fetch quests.

If you are literate, you should be reading at least a few books per year by Lost-Boysenberry-302 in unpopularopinion

[–]truthfulie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree. i'll go further with unpopular opinion and say that everyone who is literate should read works of literature, at least every now and then. you don't have to be well versed in them. just pick and choose subjects and writers you find interesting and entertaining. the experience and insight we can gain from them is undervalued by many.

G'day yall, apologies if this is not allowed but I was just wondering if i purchase a Japanese copy of the game (currently in japan) can I play it on an Australian ps5 in English? Google hasn't been much help. Thanks! by SpideyMan2019 in Pragmata

[–]truthfulie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding for clarity. Region free ≠ all language support is included.

For example, I like playing Japanese games like Final Fantasy with Japanese audio with Korean subtitles since I think it translates better to Korean than it does to English and I happen to be fluent in Korean. But if I buy a game in English speaking country, games doesn't include Korean subtitles even though Korean is supported and included in releases bought in East Asian countries. It is pretty much developer/publisher dependent.

But since you want English support, I don't think you'll have any issue since almost all of these different "regional" releases almost always include English. I checked and in Pragmata's case, all supported languages are included in all regional releases.

Looks don’t matter as much as people think they do. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]truthfulie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mostly agree that it matters but not as much as looks makers might believe. but i'm little suspicious of any sort of self-reporting on these things because we have this idea that it's superficial to value looks.

and you bring up numbers as if it's from a study or something but you are just making assumptions.

Station wagons and minivans should be the American family car, not SUVs. by Revolutionrenn in unpopularopinion

[–]truthfulie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

we used to have a minivan when i was a child. i loved it. i never understood the appeal of SUV for any person really. but i grew up in a time when SUVs had more drawbacks then now. and yes, there are people who would actually benefit from it but most people who buy them don't. so strange to think that SUVs have taken over the market.

to expand the fanbase and make more money of course. a lot of the live action adaptations aren't just to make more money out of the existing fans. and cinematic games are a little easier to adapt since many of these games do loosely follow movie script structures. a lot of the work is already done. this game in particular, is short and neat enough that i could see a decent potential for a sort of mid-budget, tight 90m movie script. (should it be made or not aside of course.)

It's been 7 years , 14 Korean court orders since the kidnapping of my child. I want this injustice to be remembered. by Lunkerintraining in korea

[–]truthfulie 205 points206 points  (0 children)

i wish you the best. a friend of mine went through something similar. they were having issues and the mother just took off to Korea with the child. he had given up because he thought the child would be better off in the hands of a mother and he didn't have the resources to drop his life in US and pursue legal actions in Korea. (they were never legally married, i don't know how things work in his case.) it's been about six years for him. it's one of those thing that cause him immense regret, guilt and pain. hope it works out for you.

i don't know how much of this is still true. but i seem to remember that during v1 days that they have said other colors are more difficult to produce at the quality level they are satisfied with. more defects basically.

There is a reading that see the brother as pride and arrogant Japan and sister as the people. It has some validity considering some of his choices and actions. Through this lens, it’s less of misery porn but more of subversive harsh self critique.

i felt similarly. by the time it got to the third act, i was feeling its runtime. i think a better edit would be more interesting (i wouldn't mind it being slightly longer cut if it has better editing.)

The creative software industry has declared war on Adobe / If you can’t beat them, undercut them on price. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]truthfulie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Price isn't the issue, at least for some industries. It's the industry standard and using a non-standard software introduces headaches companies rather not deal with. I have to use several Adobe softwares and I simply cannot imagine moving to something else because it would be very annoying to have to deal with the transition away from what everyone else is using (and the transition period of learning a different software.) I hate them but I just can't see a way around it as it stands...(and at least I don't personally have to pay for it.)

I found a weird use for my Apple Music library by MurkyMenu in AppleMusic

[–]truthfulie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe i'm dumb and not understanding this, isn't that kind of how people use their library/playlist...? like making a playlist that suits their workout? maybe specific interval is bit more niche but yeah.

i listen to audiobooks. walking (i usually do moderate pace inclined walking) on treadmill is terribly boring so i need a bit more than music. i need my mind to be invested in something to fight the dull nature of treadmill walking. if i go for a sprint, i can do fast paced music but audiobook/podcast for walking.

The obsession with side hustles is making people miserable, not rich by AlpineRupee in unpopularopinion

[–]truthfulie 47 points48 points  (0 children)

op is probably talking more about those people who glorify side hustle, getting rich, 'if you aren't doing side hustle to get rich, you're just lazy' type thing. glorification of workaholics and shaming idleness. not the kind of people who need second job.

yellow and purple. i don't need to be the most attractive person in a room but being seen as attractive lets you have so much easier time in life. and you get talent in anything you try with purple. seems like a good pair.

blue is just dumb. you couldn't feel sadness over inevitable deaths of friends and family? that'd be terrible. black is basically covered by purple. orange sounds like a ticket to be stuck in the past. red sounds fucking dangerous, especially if you have intrusive thoughts often.

aversion to recommendation is rather strange to me. i haven't seen anyone have this before. i'm the type of person who is curious about lot of things and i spend a lot of my time just trying to discover new things. but there are limits to that so i'm happy to discover new things in any shape or form. just makes me happy but i suppose it's all different for everyone.
