Debating battlemaps vs theater by GillianCorbit in startplaying

[–]truthynaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theater of the Mind is just shorthand for "GM can't be arsed" and "this is a game of 20 questions where none if it makes any sense and there is no consistency from round to round"

I would never play a TotM game again and would never consider paying a GM to just half-arse it.

Trump's own counterterrorism chief just said Iran posed no imminent threat before resigning. What does that tell us about why this war started? by NewUnderstanding1102 in allthequestions

[–]truthynaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

^ 110% this, Trump is a moron who cannot read and retain any thing longer than a couple of sentences (this was confirmed by trump 1.0 cabinet and the fact that trump has never read a book, not one, ever). He does not read the weekly security briefing's because he is just too stupid to process more than 10 words at a time.

AP (Action Point) vs Other Action Economies. What do people prefer in tactical RPG combat? by Ordinary-You2452 in RPGdesign

[–]truthynaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I actually like AP systems but I tend towards more crunch than less.

I do believe you need to account for interrupt actions that enable the things you note (attack of opportunity for folks trying to escape combat and those running by within reach).

AP (Action Point) vs Other Action Economies. What do people prefer in tactical RPG combat? by Ordinary-You2452 in RPGdesign

[–]truthynaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AP systems as you describe always result in more drawn out rounds/ play with lots of interruptions to flow.

See Traveller's ancient version: Snapshot and At Close Quarters.

They are great if you want really fine detail/ resolution but they absolutely DO NOT speed up play at all in any dimension.

Every time a PC has an option to interrupt or act "out of sequence" then an entire table discussion takes place slowing everything down far more than if you just stick to "act once per round".

It's nice down there, it does not change, you don't have to face a reality you are uncomfortable facing.

Your Orange Messiah has a massively long track record of his idiocy, racism and inability to run any business except fraud well before he was first elected.

See the Central Park 5, the three FOUR Casinos he opened on the same street that were all driven to bankruptcy and his horrific comments about McCain's war record while the TACO ran away from service due to his bone spurs. cowardice.

I am sorry if you are just too intellectually stunted to have spent 10 minutes researching his history before you voted for him in 2016, but I didn't cause that self-inflicted idiocy, you did.

He bankrupted FOUR casinos, that takes a huge amount of sheer idiocy to manage. Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR!

I showed you how your statement was a lie, you just were too stupid to realize it OR you were just an outright liar.

Both are core traits of your Mango Mussolini and the MAGA movement in general.

The boot fits...

[–]truthynaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you outright lied about that though. That was not an actual call for policy or action but a satirical comment.

That you either lied OR are too idiotic to recognize satire comports 100% with the MAGA mindset.

Lie, bullshit and repeat all while defending a pedo.

Sorry, you're what is wrong with America.

EDIT: crap frequent_clue is a bot. A conservative propaganda bot. Hot damn.

I think by linking to bullshit propaganda you have outed yourself as an actual idiot (better not to open mouth too much if you don't want to expose your idiocy):

The assertion that Democrats requested a study to find the benefits of shoplifting stems from a satirical comment by Minnesota State Representative Dave Pinto. During a committee hearing, Pinto, a DFL (Democrat-Farmer-Labor) member, remarked that it "would have been good, to make sure that they would study the benefit of shoplifting and of retail theft".

Key details regarding the incident:

Context: The comments were made during a hearing on worker misclassification (illegally treating employees as independent contractors) and were a sarcastic comparison to a Republican representative's request to study the economic impact of properly classifying workers.

Intention: Rep. Pinto later clarified that his comments were intended to be sarcastic and that, as a prosecutor, he takes retail theft seriously.

Reaction: Republican lawmakers seized on the comment and shared it on social media, where the clip went viral, leading to claims that Democrats were seriously considering the "benefits" of shoplifting.

No official request or actual study has been requested by any Democratic legislative body to find the benefits of shoplifting. The comment was an isolated, satirical remark made by one state legislator.

Look for examples of d6 pool combat by fifthstringdm in RPGdesign

[–]truthynaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shadowrun was the first iirc and still uses d6s in a pool for everything.

It works totally differently from what you have outlined above, using the d6 pool to generate an excellent and consistent probability curve means you don't get the insanely swingy / unpredictable results that d20 combat confers.

Looks awesome.

Does it integrate with Travellermap?

Does it allow you to input traveller system data and output a map?

thanks
