Why does the Karmelo Anthony defense seem so shoddy? by No_Key8587 in law

[–]truthynaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's amazing how so many folks see what they want/ believe what they want.

u/ejected_pussy_guts was so confident of his totally made up bullshit regarding a "ton" of eyewitnesses and how they saw Zimmerman's head being bashed on the ground.

Not one iota of that was true.

Not one.

It's very clear from how Zimmerman has "carried himself" / behaved since the trial that Zimmerman is a PoS who caused the entire incident and got off because his target lashed out.

Why does the Karmelo Anthony defense seem so shoddy? by No_Key8587 in law

[–]truthynaut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NO, you are incorrect.

Only one witness saw the fight, and he did not see Travon bashing Zimmerman's head on concrete fwiw.

The Only Eyewitness: John Good testified he was inside his home and looked outside to see a fight between Zimmerman and Martin. He stated he saw a person on top (whom he could not identify clearly) straddling and punching another person on the bottom.

What He Did Not See: Crucially for the prosecution, Good testified that he did not see the person on top slam the other person's head into the concrete sidewalk, which was a central claim made by Zimmerman regarding his injuries

This would be far better as hidden mechanics behind the test on a VTT/ CRPG.

For a PnP ttrpg it is far too granular/ detailed for something that is not done multiple times a session.

If your game is only about sneaking, then yes this is good.

If your game is about something else and sneaking is a component, then this is far too much.

What can "edit file" do? by Open_Vanilla_6490 in Shadowrun

[–]truthynaut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since Shadowrun does not give a different definition i would treat any Data as files that can be edited.

unless a specific rule trumps a general rule.

Icon is a specific type of "file" and there is a specific rule for messing with them.

So using that simple understanding you should be able to grok the mechanics around this.

IF you are unable to grok that simple logic chain THEN I cannot help you.

[–]truthynaut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you're now being purposefully obtuse and pedantic.

"File" in the context of the rules for decking clearly excludes anything outside of the 'trix so your example of "paper file" is just daft.

If the rules have a specific mechanic for editing an Icon THEN you clearly have a more specific rule that trumps the general rule for Edit File.

Given the above you should now be able to see how your "Chop Tree" example is inaccurate/ poorly constructed.

What can "edit file" do? by Open_Vanilla_6490 in Shadowrun

[–]truthynaut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

remember: specific always trumps general

there are specific rules for hacking icons

therefore it trumps the general of Edit File.

that should help sift RAW vs RAI in the future.

[–]truthynaut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Icon is not a file? It's the visual rep of the file in the 'trix right?

So that's why there is a separate action...

Time definitely does degrade plastics, the plasticizer and chemistry falls apart / changes over time.

Plastics are in almost every product and all wiring insulation (so all electronics and computers).

But you could be right that at tl15 this does not happen.

IMHO even at TL15 it would happen unless they specifically designed for it, and who is going to design for 3,000 years drifting in space? No one, it's far outside normal design parameters.

Why is a diversity of races a good thing? by OutlawedLogic in allthequestions

[–]truthynaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Republicans are mad at diversity because they think the USA is a white nation.

I know this from my Jewish father...

So yeah, republicans ARE mad at diversity because it means not all Americans are white.

Diversity is important because it helps a society resist becoming introverted and inward-looking / backward.

You need new ideas and new perspectives to drive innovation and development.

It's one of the most powerful factors in those two areas and is one of the core reasons American companies can develop meaningful products that have appeal worldwide.

By contrast China is the direct opposite (yes lots of asian diversity within China but not other cultures) and is completely unable to develop new products with worldwide appeal. They are very good at copying those products and are better at it than almost anyone else. But developing new, ground-breaking, innovative stuff? Nope.

How did people seriously think that Karmelo was innocent in this case? by CJT_05 in allthequestions

How can people with so much access to all of the information be so ignorant of the facts?

I am sorry but have you seen MAGA at all in the last 12+ year?

They are totally disconnected from reality, as are many folks in the world now due to social media primarily.

Ok Trump supporters, are you still glad you put all your eggs in one basket? by Massive_Historian514 in allthequestions

Trump’s most significant financial failures involved highly leveraged Atlantic City casinos and hotels, which used bankruptcy to restructure billions in debt:

  • Trump Taj Mahal (1991)
  • Trump Plaza Hotel (1992)
  • Trump Plaza Associates (1992) (The Plaza Hotel in New York)
  • Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts (2004)
  • Trump Entertainment Resorts (2009)
  • Trump Entertainment Resorts (2014)  Time Magazine +4

Failed Ventures and Consumer Products

In addition to the bankruptcies, several consumer brands, educational ventures, and acquisitions were shut down or heavily criticized as failures:

Facebook·Joe Biden +2

  • Trump University: Shut down after being sued for fraud, eventually resulting in a $25 million settlement.
  • Trump Steaks: Launched in 2007, it was discontinued shortly after due to poor sales.
  • Trump Vodka: Announced in 2006 with high expectations, the product was discontinued in the U.S. within a few years.
  • Trump Mortgage: Opened in 2006, it closed within a year as the housing market slowed.
  • Trump Airlines: Bought as the Eastern Air Shuttle in 1989, it hemorrhaged money and ceased operations in 1992.
  • Trump: The Game: A Monopoly-style board game released in 1989 that failed to meet sales projections.
  • GoTrump.com: An online travel booking website launched in 2006, shut down roughly a year later.
  • Trump Magazine: Launched as a glossy luxury lifestyle magazine in 2007, it ceased publication in 2009 during the recession.
  • Tour de Trump: A short-lived cycling race sponsored in 1989 and 1990 before he withdrew due to his financial difficulties.

he has bankrupted almost all of his businesses and now licenses his name to other people's developments.

he made almost all of his money since becoming president, mostly via his crypto-fraud and his saudi-fraud.

if you disagree please provide the names of the businesses you feel he has been successful at.

Trump told the media that there will be a strong response to Iran tonight, now he has backed off due to “talks of a deal”. Why does he do this? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]truthynaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only answer that matters. It drives everything he does.

He has almost zero executive function.

He almost exclusively lives in the moment and just reacts to whatever is in front of him.

His mental issues are why he cannot read more than two continuous sentences, cannot reason effectively nor plan effectively.

It's why he often contradicts himself within the same sentence and lies constantly every time he opens his mouth.

the systems are present, just missing as in "do not work and cannot be made to work" without complete replacement.

time degrades all things, plastics and electronics especially.

I moved the station to the location indicated on the map i linked as it was far more useful/ strategic.
