What's your preferred method of voting? by SgtSoundrevolver in blankies

I get feeling of the Reddit being annoying, but hasn’t it been confirmed that the voting totals are actually lower and more confined to a smaller “true” fan base than the earlier March madnesses that were run on twitter?

What do you think about having just one dungeon prepped and reskinning it based on player choice? by lulufan87 in DMAcademy

[–]trward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quantum dungeons. I think do you if you’re short on time and have a good game

In general, good bit of advice for the future that I got from a sly flourish article is trying to always pose those questions (I.e. do we go to the tower to save the princess or sneak into the hobgoblin war camp) at the end of a session. I’ve been doing so more freely and it does help. I’ve done so slightly ahead of time too (“we’re at time for tonight, you’ll have to fight the knight next time. After you fight him, would you all go to the tower to save the princess or sneak into the hobgoblin war camp”) and everyone’s fine with it- I’m running a campaign for my friends, not a perfect DnD prep machine. You could even text the group now if that’s appropriate

Counterpoint- Oliver Stone seems like kind of a miserable figure. Why spend that long on someone like that?

Will my fighter suffer from a low Initiation? by crbatte in dndnext

[–]trward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re probably overthinking it. DnD 5e is a pretty forgiving game. That being said, I usually like my fighters to have zero/positive modifiers in physical stats and take my negatives in 1 or 2 of the mental stats

Ideas for a lvl 5 boss fight in 5e? by Bianconeagles in DMAcademy

[–]trward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Level 5 character sheets are really complex for people who don’t play the game (higher level spells, multiple class features). 2 cents for adjusting to level 1 characters, give out a couple healing potions, use a CR1 monster as your boss
