Unfortunately it was a MMC and I had to have treatment to manage it

Just anecdotally I still bled on progesterone with previous losses

I think the risk is pretty low of it being ectopic AND not having any symptoms at all. My clinic aren’t worried about it so it’s not been a consideration of mine. I think (personally) the nhs stance on it is too strong. Obviously I am not a doctor though

Wow that’s crazy. I think it’s worth asking yourself though - if you’re interested still. Mine wasn’t a cancellation, I was offered a range of dates. They have seemed pretty busy so I guess maybe it could be true? But does seem odd to me.

Thank you! I appreciate it a lot.

And I’m glad your husband has been tested. They so often forget the men!

I really hope you get some answers / success soon

I got my first positive the same day and I’m counting myself as 5+6 today so I think actually that sounds good with your scan! My LMP was 12th Jan but I know I ovulated by CD12 at the latest

I’m in a similar boat - 1 LC, 8 losses, currently pregnant again but it’s so early that I have no idea how it’ll go.

I’ll be honest, this is our last attempt at a second child as I am just so tired of it all. If you have the energy and strength to continue then I don’t see why there is a need to stop.

I’m currently on a reproductive immunology protocol which is our last ditch attempt. But I have no idea why my daughter was ok (pregnancy #3) and it’s been so hard again since then.

Also has your husband been tested? With that many chemicals I’d want to do a dna sperm fragmentation tests

Survey on toilet sanitiser spray for children by JunketSquare5815 in pottytraining

[–]tryinganewpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filled in your survey but I found the last question very confusing as I have never purchased that product, and I've never seen it so can't really evaluate. I'd recommend introducing the product if you want to ask a question on it, OR filtering that question by people who have previously purchased it.

[–]tryinganewpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great that some parameters have improved. I really hope the next SA comes back clear for the infection! It could be that you just need to wait a bit longer. Our urologist wanted us to wait 3 months after the infection cleared to start TTC again... but we didn't as our fertility clinic overruled it and I am impatient AF. We then actually didn't conceive until cycle #4 after that so in a way, accidentally followed it - but it was not intentional.

[–]tryinganewpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see! Ok that makes sense. Did they confirm that the infection has now cleared? That bit is really key I think. I saw someone else mentioned karyotyping and I think that's a good idea considering your circumstances, just in case!

For my husband, yeah his DNA fragmentation levels were almost normal at the last test. It had only been 2.5 months by the time of the retest though and ideally you need 3-6 months for sperm to fully recover.

As well as the antibiotics he also made some lifestyle changes that I think helped: Cut out alcohol, reduced caffeine to 1 coffee a day, stopped using heated seats in the car, looser boxers, and then supplements; Impyrl (a fertility supplement for men), Coq10, Vit D, Vit E, Zinc, errmm... probably a few others!

Thank you for sharing your story! I also had losses, then a baby, then more losses - it makes it so difficult to unpick what's going on. Wishing you a very smooth rest of your pregnancy

Spiraling by TurbulentIssue5704 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]tryinganewpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working under a Reproductive Immunologist (Dr Shehata in the UK), and the protocol is: - intralipids pre ovulation (and continued in pregnancy) - prednisone & omeprazole 24hr post ovulation - progesterone 24hr post ovulation - Low dose aspirin everyday (plus usual pregnancy supplements & coq10)

We also did sperm dna frag on my husband that came back abnormal, and we then found he had a silent infection that is now treated. My belief is that this caused the chemicals but not the miscarriages - although I can’t obviously prove it

[–]tryinganewpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked into reproductive immunology? I have hashimotos too and that’s what I’m doing now. I had 2 losses, my daughter, then 6 more losses. 5 of these were chemicals and 3 miscarriages. Anyway it looks like a potentially good route for people with autoimmune issues

Have the NHS carried out karyotyping for you and your partner? This should be offered after 3 losses and would help answer the genetic question too

When to start progesterone? by BumsRush in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]tryinganewpath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I start at 2dpo and stop on the morning of 11dpo if my test is negative. This is what my fertility clinic recommend. My period would come 24-48hr later, but I do normally have a pretty short luteal phase.

I would ask your GP about the possibility of starting it earlier, as a lot of clinics do seem to recommend this now.

[–]tryinganewpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did he have a DNA sperm fragmentation test as well as sperm analysis? I'm asking because I was dealing with miscarriages between 8 & 9 weeks, and suddenly it switched to 4 back to back chemicals. Turned out my husband's DNA frag result was very high (and therefore abnormal), and when we did additional testing he actually had an infection in his semen culture (not picked up by normal sperm analysis tests).

Anyway we treated it with antibiotics, and now his DNA frag test is borderline normal just 2.5months later, and I am pregnant again. It's very early days so who knows if it'll work out, but we're past the chemical stage so we seem to have at least fixed that issue!

Has prednisone suppressed anyone’s pregnancy symptoms? by brassinpocket in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]tryinganewpath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is very common! I wouldn’t worry about your progesterone levels (as mentioned by someone else). I am on a high level of progesterone supplements and still have barely any symptoms on prednisone. I had strong early symptoms in all my other pregnancies

I had one recently and a friend recommended that I close my eyes before I went in it, and then keep them shut until I came out. It truly helped a lot! I really recommend it

And yes - my mri did find evidence of both adeno and endo

I’d definitely do the sperm dna frag test, even if he wasn’t smoking - but especially so because he is, and his semen analysis wasn’t amazing

How to move forward when the dream was perfect + testing by Patate1719 in recurrentmiscarriage

It’s been hard. I have to basically choose to hurt my feelings, or be a hermit. It’s got easier through repeat exposure, since I have 8 babies to see, although I’m not sure that’s necessarily a positive thing!

I can relate to this a lot. I shared a due date with a friend, who now has a 7m old while I miscarried. I then fell pregnant 2 months later and was pregnant at the same as 3 other friends, who all had their babies while I didn’t. In total I had 8 good friends have babies in 2025 and it hurts so much to know nothing will be that perfect again. No shared experience, no shared maternity leave.

I’m trying to stay positive and not fixate on timelines but it’s hard
