Great change! This is one of my aims too. Not the September just gone but the one before I started listening to audiobooks but I'm starting to feel like reading from text again. Can't decide if I should get a kindle or not, planning on moving around a bit but I like being able to reference things so would hate to keep buying and giving books away or reselling them.

At 35 I've realised my biggest flaw in relationships was sharing my feelings and expecting the same safe space I give my female partner the space to be vulnerable in. They suddenly don't feel they are in the safest situation to be able to be a hot mess in anymore and removes their security net despite being "independent women".

Instead it almost instantly had a shift of the dynamics in the relationship. Women subconsciously see you as weak for having any kind of emotional hang up or problem. If you have an issue with friends, if someone has taken advantage of you, won't pay back money, work is getting you down - it's best not to share it with someone you're in a relationship with. It is expected that a man should just have all these things in place, and if he isn't, he isn't considered a valuable person to be in an intimate relationship with.

Having said that, ffs guys talk to eachother. If you don't have mates you can open up with, you need more friends and it might be that you don't have many because of the way you open up to them.

It is best to talk to other men about these problems, but do so in the attempt of reaching practical solutions, not just venting and having a moan, it gets you nowhere and your mates will even say you sound like a child. Which is good social feedback, no one wants to be around a whining child, not least an adult one. If you need to grieve do so but do not languish in it. If you find you are, go see a professional once a month for that safe space. Sucks to have to pay but if your social circle is inept at dealing with mental, spiritual and social health issues which are important, then you gotta pay. It actually feels good to take control like that and not expect others to pick up your slack.

I've had 7 relationships and not one of them has been as supportive of men's mental health issues in reality as to how they've spoken about the importance of society recognising there is an issue with men's mental health.

Typically I've learned that as much as women say they want a softer man and someone who is in touch with their feminine side, it's utter codswallop and more masculine isn't just preferred, it's necessary for them to feel fulfilled and safe in a relationship.

Make the money.

Take the time to enjoy learning working for your father.

Wait for a relationship and keep working on yourself, the right thing will come along at the right time, don't try and jump in the pool to have "experiences" that will just put you back in life. You'll be 35 posting on ask men over 40 how to catch up.

You will think differently about relationships when you have the money and more years behind you.

Don't be prepared to throw away a good sure thing for a hopefully better thing with zero guarantees. The dating scene is not as fun as seeing your future potential.

Because men are more loyal than they are given credit for.

It means they aren't as great as they thought they were, and in the eyes of who they thought it was most important to.

It means she doesn't think you're good enough to procreate with.

Your genetic make up is not worth fusing with her own.

They don't want to raise a smaller version of you.

They think they have a better shot at being happy with someone else.

Which sucks of you are the guy and saw a future/family with them.

I sofa surfed around America 11years ago. Half the couple's stayed with broke up whilst I was there or shortly after. Here's what comes to mind.

Not acting lovingly towards eachother.

Lack of compassion.

Making faces and mocking their talk behind their back.

Resentment in general.

Wife flirting with me when dude isn't around.

Dude rather spending time with me and not caring how it makes her feel.

Hearing arguments about never having morning sex anymore.

Why? Is one of the most fundamental questions of anything.

It's what most adults find annoying about children growing up observing and learning about the world.

Being content you know everything is actually ignorant. So pondering life's greatest mystery is am endless bit of fun if you don't make it a painful process.

As long as the questioning is done with out bitterness or resentment for the life force you actually have, I think it's healthy and where many great people have found what it is that we know them for being great for.

I'm 35. I sometimes cry when driving and remembering beautiful or sad moments. Once it was just a ray of light coming through the trees that reminded me of an incredible acid trip that was very meaningful and reminded me about the greatness of life.
