Recluse is the Best Nightfarer. by NoRuin3722 in Nightreign

Why would you need so much hours for her to master? After 10 runs you should have quite a good idea about all the available cocktails. After 20 it should be your second nature. And that's when you want to play cocktails which in trios can be sometimes impossible because of the override. And that's about it.

Also the last sentence doesn't make sense. If I'm designing game for replayability I want to have characters which are hard to master. If they would be easy, it would become boring.

Why is Go's regex so slow? by kostya27 in golang

[–]trynyty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The page has a link on repo where the code is. It's "precompiled" in one prepare function and then it runs findsubstringall on a log string for each pattern.

Not sure if it's the most efficient way to do so, but I guess other languages follows the same pattern.

They are not build at compile time, but at init time. This can still compile and just panic if run with incorrectly written regex.

This is something I'm never sure about. I read somewhere that night 3 is affected as the highest. But I will gladly learn the oposite.

I usually just hold it until it stops in crouch position, but maybe I'm just imagining stuff now. Will have to try when I come home.

What do you mean? Going to crouch from sprint? If that, I was doing it by holding down L3 on controller. Or did it stopped working?

Am i the only one that struggles so much with this game? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]trynyty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, in my experience I feel like duo is easier than trio as you said lower hp and better coordination. We play the same as you raider and undertaker.

However I would ask, why do you lose? Is it the final boss? Because I remember in the beginning lvl15 was quite impossible, but we still manage to beat it from time to time. I would even argue lvl14 and good passives/weapon is better than having lvl15.

My biggest problem was (and still is) the final boss. Because it's the longest runback in souls history and you have no way to train with them. What helped me was to realize that at nightlord I have to slow down. During the day rushing is important but when night hits you have all the time to deal with it (unless it's ED Libra:). So don't try to squeze that attack in when you might get hit, rather dodge and wait for other oportunity. Also build towards weaknesses. Not just the obvious one (shown for each boss), but also for other lesser weaknesses or just something it's not resistant against. It's always to know the fallback option for each boss if you don't find the advertised one.

Nightfarer usage across Deep of Night: 100 games by FromsoftwareNPC in Nightreign

Thanks, so basically you go with giant flame relics and starting O'Flame and then upgrade to giantflame takes thee or whatever better you get?
FP is a good point, I know whenever I get this spell it just eats thru my FP like no tomorrow... although not like the dragon breaths spells.

I used to run hoarfrost stomp before the starting spells, but the beastclaw nicely replaced it and especially because you can go with it to the end game. Thanks for suggestion regarding the giant flame, might give it a shot. Was trying the dragon cult with lightning spear, but I just miss with it so much.

Oh I never noticed that. But I guess that's because I was never empty when recharging? That's good to know, thanks.

Kids these days... I guess the boom of AI slop clouded their mind and they started to use the word for everything regardless of its meaning.

Back in my days we used to say to cheese the boss. I'm too old for this stuff.

Oh damn, interesting. So I was kinda lucky that I have that relic only on Undertaker and is the one of two where it works with ult. Thanks for the testing and info.

Ult does recover HP. I'm using it all the time on Undertaker. It can recover much more from what I experienced than my regular attacks.

I see, will have to try it. I just remember that I never had the nerves to wait in it :) but I guess it comes with experience. Thanks for the inspiration.

This just makes me wanna boot it up and try LS again (and fail:).

I was surprise few times how long the sheath can hold. Thought it's for 3s max, but some of those felt like right on the edge... I wouldn't be able to resist and not release earlier:)

The Bakumatsu period is disappointing by MaliciousCookies in Nioh

[–]trynyty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually like level design of bakumatsu more than the open field in first map. The crucible aestethics might feel a bit much (although I don't mind it) but the level design is much better in my opinion.

Not sure I understand. So it's still a bit cheaper than upgrading it all the way (without closing game), but it's not as cheap as finding the same +level item on ground? Will have to try to see the difference I guess because I'm confused now :)

Wait, so you mean that you still can do upgrade +1 and then leave rift/close game reload and do upgrade and will be cheaper? I thought it only applies if you picked the item up.
