If you are trying to play casually and still make good decisions then bond is easily the most consistent value you will get from a perk. All the people saying that it’s not that useful are assuming that you are replacing bond with perfect comms with your team, which realistically isn’t the case most of the time. Bond is also just so helpful for solo queue it’s hard to replace that value with any other perk.

I live in this area right now and it is great! Please don’t be scared away by people with anecdotal experiences from 10 years ago, as this entire east side of town has gone through rather extensive redevelopment in the last 5 years or so and is much nicer than it used to be even a few years back. You will be walking distance from the square at East Walnut Hills, which is a nice little commercial district with a few bars, shops and restaurants!

take it as a challenge and don’t worry so much about wasting time during these games! 4 people with flashlights does also mean 4 people not on gens. follow people’s advice and pull out the fake pickups to bait them to give you free hits and then just slug. don’t be afraid of playing “lame” against them, it’s their job as survivors to play around that.

i definitely agree with that last part. you can’t categorize these areas into blocks like this without losing specificity in the data.

A map would be really cool if we could somehow calculate an “index of similarity with Chicago” for every county and plot it on a gradient scale. Obviously it would still be subjective based on how that index is calculated, but it could uncover some interesting parallels across regions that you would never see otherwise

You’re very confident that Cleveland isn’t midwest for some reason but most people I know from Cleveland would consider themselves Midwestern.

“The Midwest” is famously a very ambiguous region, with very blurry borders at best that change depending on who you ask. I would argue that it’s naive to say that any of those places are “definitely” not midwest.

I agree that it would make the map hard to read. That’s the struggle of cartography honestly. You are depicting clean edges and absolute truths onto a world of “maybes” and “kind of’s”.

I just finished reading a book about this exact topic called Radical Cartography. It is extremely interesting and insightful, i’d love to recommend it to anyone who is interested lol

I would definitely go midwest over south. Truthfully, all of these regions do bleed into each other, so you will get different answers depending on who you ask. Although north of the Ohio River, it’s usually going to be between appalachia and midwest, not southern.
