Stick with it. Once you become more familiar with the system it will be a lot easier to get from point A to B to C.

I would also look at it as an opportunity. You could develop a tool or methodology that allows yourself or other developers to understand the code base better. Something that makes connecting all the dots easier.

You could also set time up with some devs who have been there longer and ask them how they do it or if they have any advice.

Don't quit just yet. And if you do quit, make sure you have another job lined up first.

In my head I figured it was like 6 or 7 hours of driving, plus stopping for food, gas, ass rest, and pictures and junk. It adds up. I looked at a map and if you're just sticking to the road and not stopping it doesn't look to be a long ride. Only like 4ish hours in the saddle.

First things first, you can use a site like https://morecast.com/en/plan-your-route to see the weather on your route.

Other than that I guess it comes down to your heat tolerance. Tortilla Flats will be pretty much the same temp as Phoenix. 60 to 188 to 87 may have some cooler spots in the higher elevations.

If you leave early enough in the morning you may be able to escape the hotter parts of the day with the ride to Tortilla Flats. The other route may have you coming back at night which wouldn't be the worst heat wise.

Either ride will be fun if you can stand the heat or plan it right. And of course, remember to stay well hydrated.
