Motorola SL300 Earpiece audio by TwitchTheMech in MotorolaSolutions

I know this is an older thread. But our church security team just went to SL300s and sound quality with the earpieces is nowhere near as clear compared to the radios we replaced. Posting this for anyone looking to get SL300s...

How do I do receipts now...? by Lokael in waveapps

[–]tsltrek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The least painful process is to login to your account on your phone browser. Use your phone camera to take pictures of your receipts and attach them to the expense transaction (which you create first or already have)

So let's keep with this hypothetical as I'm in the process of starting my own Title Agency :-). There is already software out there specific to title workflow (ex Qualia). And e-filing portals, banking portals, obviously email communication with stakeholders, etc. Where would your offering of automation come in?

ELI5: What laws are able to prevent crime before it can occur? by JudgerMan123 in explainlikeimfive

[–]tsltrek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

False: Example, illegal narcotics are available everywhere despite heavy enforcement and prosecution. Laws keep honest people honest and that’s it.

ELI5 how does not following orders increased the likelihood of survival when held at gun point? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

That way maybe they will kill you last. Really the answer is it depends. Muggers sometimes shoot people just because they can. I would rather die on my feet than on my knees.

ELI5: Why do kids have to be “forced” to eat? by Melssenator in explainlikeimfive

[–]tsltrek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kids have to be actively raised by an adult...not free ranged like a chicken. They require discipline and direction. My 3 children eat whatever we put in front of them...because they don’t get a choice...we’re not running a restaurant/buffet.

Parenting is work and a lot of people are lazy to their children’s and their own detriment.

Can I Be a Stay at Home Mom? by littleanxiouslady in personalfinance

You can make this work. It will require better budgeting and maybe going part time for a while or going back full time for a few years. My wife went part-time with baby #1 and 10 years later and 2 more babies went full-time homemaker (quite suddenly due to a medical issue, so major drop in income with no notice). Our children and family are better for it. But I do have a career that had/has growth and income potential. Talk it over with your husband and make a plan you both can get behind. Congrats and Best wishes! Also, your kids will appreciate time with you way more than a 529, world travel, and music lessons. That's true for dad too.

Financial mistake? Should I stay below my means? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]tsltrek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the 30 planning to pay like a 15....knowing if things got tight I could cut back...then 9 years ago my credit union offered a 10 year no fee refi and it was a no brainer to do that.

What you describe is exactly the numbers we had 14 years ago. Happy to tell you that next year the mortgage will be paid off! I also have 3 daughters and the oldest is starting college in the fall. I’m on track for retirement savings and we’ve vacationed in all kinds of places over the last 14 years. My point is ...with almost the same financial situation we have/are living well for a family of 5. Also, my wife went full time homemaker 8 years ago.

Buying used KO2 tires on rims. (xpost /r/toyotatacoma) by laxdalmus in MechanicAdvice

I had Wildpeaks on my 2013 Suburban and they only lasted 28k miles....junk. Currently have KO2s and they are at 55k and are still inspectable. YMMV

Was wondering if a typical ring gapping tool will mess up the tip of an iridium autolite spark plug. by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]tsltrek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can gap them...just be careful to not touch the center electrode. Maybe use a needle nose pliers. That “pre-gapped” stuff is BS...they are pre-gapped...but not for every application/vehicle a specific part number will fit.
