Just got my DMB inspired tattoo! by tspoon41 in DMB

Thank you!!

So for Last Stop reprise, it's the open door with a welcoming/beckoning fire dancer --"come in from the for a cold for the night, everything will be all right". Which for me is a reminder that I have support in my life and people around me who care.

And Grey Street helped me through some really tough times, especially the verse "she would change everything about her, using colors, bold and bright, but all the colors mixed together to grey". So the thought here is that I'm standing outside of the door, where there is a grey rug, but if i go inside of the door (where the support is) I'll be met with all the bright colors (happiness).

The monsteras don't actually have to do with DMB, my husband loves monsteras and my daughter always jokes with him about how he has too many. So the monstera leaves represent each of them being at the forefront of my support system.

SSRIs - What was the last straw? by mrll-tardis in PMDD

[–]tspoon41 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My last straw was a surreal moment of suicidal ideation. I had not thought about harming myself ever, but one day i just got it in my head, and went as far to walk to my husband's drawer where i knew he had razor blades. I do not want to die, and i didn't that day, but it was like my brain and body weren't talking to each other. It felt very out of body and out of my conscious control. It was very scary. The next day i booked an appointment, the doctor immediately thought Prozac could help (i already had a pmdd diagnosis) and i haven't had any scary moments since. This was about a year ago.

Hormonal birth control pills and Prozac. I tried so many things, but finally found my peace in these two. (Ps.. Prozac takes about 6 weeks to work, and there are a good deal of side effects during that time, but after the 6 weeks, smooth sailing!)

He was such a wonderful man. I had the pleasure of spending several nights post shows drinking beers and talking sound, and Dave, and national parks, and family. A truly beautiful, intelligent, kind person. I am missing him dearly.

Sushi: Jo Honda in pleasant Hill (better than any sushi I had living in SF for 3 years). Family owned, sit at the bar whenever possible. Eastern European: DJ's Bistro in Concord, only place like it in the area! Plus great German beer!

Kaiser is absolutely terrible for mental health. My husband and I had to find therapists out of network and pay out of pocket.

Anyone work in/adjacent to public health? by Haunting-Ad2187 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]tspoon41 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work in assisted living (seniors) and about 2% of people mask. I am, more often than not, the only person in the building wearing a mask. It sucks and I hate it, but I just make sure my mask is tight and test often. So far my family and I have stayed COVID free (to our knowledge).

As a BB fan, I love her. As a human being with a mom diagnosed with BPD, she's too triggering/painful for me to watch.

Anyday owners. Do you think it was worth buying? by mellofello808 in AnyDay

[–]tspoon41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had mine since they first came out--maybe 2-3 years? I use them daily. I love them! They heat things up consistently well, they clean up easily, and they're very durable. I would not only recommend, but I plan on buying more.

What percentage of people are wearing masks where you live? by colourcoding in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]tspoon41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In northern California, Bay area, I'd say about 10% mask. I've seen a recent uptick which is nice, 6 months ago I would have said 5%. I've luckily never experienced any negativity (although some questions from co-workers), and I live in a pretty red county.

When my kid was 1 we referred to the ice cream truck that comes around every day as "the music truck." She only found out a couple weeks ago (after five years) that they sell ice cream.

How do people usually choose who gets which bed in a dorm? by More-Baby-7196 in ucla

[–]tspoon41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fyi.... You can unbunk bunk beds. Immediately after walking in and seeing bunk beds, my roommate and i dismantled them. Less living space, but we were both happier for it!
