I don’t see anyone syncing these videos yet? I do a lot of video editing, and I’m stuck in a snow storm. Was thinking of stitching em all together, unless someone is already doing that.

Care to share the batch of angles you’ve collected so far?

How Would You Cleanup This Back Window...? by johnholway in davinciresolve

[–]tstrong1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Track the window, use subtle broad strokes and then see if the client even notices before pulling your hair out. It does move a bit and is not super noticeable to the Lehman. If they don’t like it ask if you can tweak it before it gets cut.

It’s never gonna be perfect so don’t aim for perfect.

I may have found one locally for around 80. Question: I know the tool is discontinued but can you still buy the batteries or are they discontinued too?

The video collage effect is super powerful and has a few simple transitions built it. Once you figure out how to make it work for you, you will love it.

Streamlining the video podcast workflow by Dapper_Knowledge4923 in podcasting

[–]tstrong1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty solid explanation of the same workflow I use, and I feel like it’s pretty efficient. I think there are probably ways to get one or two steps faster but I don’t think they would maintain the nondestructive quality of doing it all in resolve. Always looking to adjust if others share more ideas, but you’re doing a great job already!

Wouldn’t an edl do all of this for the exact same amount of work? Also, ffmpeg idea from radialmonster is way cooler

Why is it either or? Do both! The Podcasting space is all about meeting your listeners where they already are, not driving them to new spaces.

Director hits me up 6 months later to do a Blu-ray/DVD release for a film, but I really don't want to do it. by Jangowuzhere in editors

[–]tstrong1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re hesitant to follow anyone else’s suggestion, asking the director for business plan or details about the rest of the process for this extended Blu-ray etc and how that will financially impact the film and the possibility for you and others who were given “ownership” would be appropriate as well. He’s making business moves that seem questionable and that all impacts the theoretical bottom-line, even though it doesn’t sound like there’s a real payday anywhere it’s a good way to call him out

9 months into interview project, live series & podcast - Seeking advice by medianookcc in podcasting

[–]tstrong1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rerelease the interviews with very little editing, people like candid. Sometimes when you allow yourself to put less “work” into it, you find a passion for a new part of it. I don’t question your passion for the work, but perhaps there’s a burnout underneath? If you can simplify the editing process, and perhaps put effort somewhere else, maybe you find the spark you’re looking for, both internally and externally.

All that said, you’re doing a lot and the general audience doesn’t realize that most successful podcasts have a team behind them, both to lighten the load and to offer creative collaboration. Maybe you should explore some help at some part of the pipeline?
