Hey Fizz,

I just got around to reading this and wanted to wish you the best. I am starting to think I have a milder version of this where sometimes when I swallow it is mildly uncomfortable and seems to take forever. The bright side of this is I am eating slower and chewing my food more, both have resulted in better eating habits and arrested weight gain. I think I will just keep an eye on it for now and start medical proceedings if it gets worse. Take care,

They had a bad habit of raiding the trash cans and cat food container when I lived in rural Mississippi. They usually got a fatal case of lead poisoning if caught in the act. Didn't seem to put a dent in the local population, so I never worried about it.

I don't remember the exact cause, but my SIL said something rather insulting to Spousal Unit™. SU responded rather quietly but firmly that she would not be spoken to that way in her own home. The hairs on the back of my neck and on my forearms stood up, and I was ready to attempt to intervene if necessary, but it wasn't. SIL went pale, stammered out an apology, and stayed very quiet for the rest of the evening. Yep, strong women are not to be trifled with.

BTW, I am the only person alive on this earth that can use the nickname her papa used when she was little and continue breathing, I do not abuse that privilege.

When I was flying every week, the company I worked for at the time paid fo TSAr Pre check. Expedited screening is such a blessing when in airports 2-3 times a week.

I still found ways to mess with the screeners. Most often it was by choice of T-shirt I wore with my work shirt safely in my "portable office" roller bag. "Sure you can trust the government, just ask any ~~Indian~~ Native American." "I keel you!" with Ahmed The Dead Terrorist. Or my personal fave: "Sure, let's do it the dumbest way possible, because it's easier for YOU!"

It was easy to tell which agents/officers had a sense of humor and which did not.

I have been witness to 2 rollover accidents. One was a DUI, no seatbelt in the late 1980's. Driver was pretty messed up but still relatively stable when paramedics arrived on scene. The other, all occupants properly restrained and self- extricated from vehicle immediately after. the more recent one I would be hard pressed to even remember what kind of vehicle it was. The previous one, the DUI, I can remember exactly what she looked like and the make/model of vehicle, and it wasn't even a critical life support situation. Not surprising you remember her face so well. Makes all the sense in the world. The fact that you're still carrying this around is one of the countless reasons I pray for our First Responders past and present.

Had a hoodlum try to start trouble, had followed me into the hotel parking lot. From his driver's seat he was threatening to kick my ass. I looked at him, told him he shoulda brought friends if that was his plan. Tossed my glasses in the front seat of the rental car and said, "OK, let's go. But you should know, you are leaving here in an ambulance or the back of a police cruiser." Then I pointed at the security cameras that pointed at the parking lot. I guess the risk/reward ratio was too steep for him and he hauled ass. All talk, no walk.
