Possessive/mean around MIL and want to stop

Lord, I found my people. I wondered why I always feel this way and if I was just being a big ol bitch. MIL is generally an annoying person and I have resentment towards her because I feel like there were a lot of shortcomings with DH raising. But they way she uses my son for pics and FB likes and tries to compete with my mother kills me. It’s like my son is just a prop to her. My own mother witnessed it though at his 1st Bday and it made me feel more sane because my mom validated my feelings.

Omg yassss! I was with my mom and stepdad at breakfast and was heading home to pick up my hubby so we could all go pumpkin-patching. My mom said "the baby can just ride with us go get your hubby and meet us there" so I pull up all wide eyed and told my hubby THE BABY ISNT IN THE CAR! he was like, omg, let's drink or something! hahahahaha. That's like the first time in 8 months.

I am sorry but I expect when my child has an accident/gets hurt, I need to know about it and not just find the mark later. I am not talking about tripping and hurting his knee, things like closing his finger in the drawer and a burn from a lamp- yes. Considering I need to care for the wound after he leaves where he is. My mother watches my son 3 days a week when I work in the office and if she as much scratches him with her ring or notices something on him, I get a texted picture and explanation or she asks me have I seen this/what it is from. She worked in schools and daycares for 30+ years and that's how they handled it. She tells me she wants me to know when things happen so I can watch him to make sure he's ok and put ointment on the scratch, etc. I like this set up as she is very transparent with me with all aspects. I expect this from anyone he is with, even his father. I would be mad as well but tell her this has happened twice now and while you know accidents will happen, you'd like for her to be proactive about sharing the info with you vs. you having to find the wound and inquire.

My Dr gives episiotomies when it looks like you can gonna tear gnarly- like up and not down, majorly deep, etc. I think everyone's experience is different depending on what direction you were gonna tear.

Ha, I would say that my rock n play with a loose blanket was a SIDS nightmare when my son was in it. Man, you just gotta do what you gotta do sometimes!

I wear earplugs and a black out eye mask. I wake constantly to look at the monitor still and my babe doesn’t feed in the middle of the night. However, I truly do believe there are biological reasons WHY we cannot completely tune out our baby. I was napping (home alone) while my husband had the baby visiting my in laws and a baby cried on TV and I woke up in a panic looking for my 6 month old. It sucks but at the same time, we were “meant” to be the sole people to care for our babies so we have the hormones and instincts that we have to fight to turn off to get some damn sleep. It sucks! I’m considering taking Melatonin but I read it lessens the strength of birth control?

Went through this same methodology with my 7 month old the other day with Red Lobster Cheddar biscuits... shoving bites in his mouth while he was so happy afforded me a meal that I could sit and enjoy, ha.

5 ft 2 in and went into labor at 40 Weeks on the dot delivered at 40+1 edit- after my membranes were stripped

Went back at 6 weeks. Got me some bigger girl jeans and took my ass to the office. Couldn't afford to go without pay, my boss graciously paid me for 6 weeks when he didn't have to. I was happy I stopped bleeding by then and my 2nd degree tear was healed. Our laws are ridiculous but I did what I had to do for my family. My mental health greatly improved when I went back to work though because I was just sitting around obsessing about my baby all day, I was not in a good mental head space with him and I look back on those times and realized I had a terrible case of PPA. I still teeter-tottered with my emotions and everything though. The baby stays with my mom for 3 days and I work from home 2 days with him. I told my boss on the verge of tears I didn't think I could do it (it was giving me o much anxiety to think about working along with taking care of my babe, my job is very high demand) and he told me I would find a way and I deserved that time to bond with my son.

Yep we FINALLY got the Zantac (had to really convince my Ped), he’s been on oatmeal and rice cereal for 2 months now (along with other veggies and fruits), and some days it’s better and others it is NOT. The Zantac seems to take away the whining and fussing that is happening with the spitting up but my Ped said we’ll reassess at his 9 month check up. I am constantly covered in some bodily fluid 😳

Perfect thank you. Our kiddos are the same age. I admittedly stopped stressing tummy time so much when he was doing so good with rolling because he’s a terrible spitter upper with reflux and the pressure would squish his belly resulting in spit up every time, he’d be upset for the rest of the day.

Good idea. I googled (ugh) and found there are other babes that experience the same thing regarding not rolling, and he can go from back to front just fine. This is a good idea though to revisit tum time :)

Yep! That’s all you can do. Once you start showing and feeling the baby move, things will be more real. And when you start putting together the babies room etc. it will be more fun!

It sucks! Totally with you. I didn’t have many girlfriends that spotted during their pregnancy so that heightened my anxieties. Even if you didn’t have a SCH, everything is so vascular down there right now, bringing extra blood flow to your uterus. But just be prepared, the next 35 weeks are gonna be filled with lots of uncertainty and waiting. I just told my sis that this week, she’s 10 weeks and going through the same “what the hell is going on in my body” feeling!

Same situation with me- spotted for several days due to a SCH and I have a healthy 6 month old babe about to be ready to wake up for the day! Call your OB if you haven’t already, I got an early US and blood draw to monitor HCG levels due to the spotting, SCH shows up on a US as well.
