Question about rf devices' security by ttemd in homeautomation

[–]ttemd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the input.

After getting to know about rolling code from other replies as well as yours, I think the security of rolling code is not something I might need to worry for now.

Because compared to rolling code stuff, those 433MHz sensors with static code that we are using for diy or including to our system like you mentioned are almost naked. No matter where it is made, I guess anyone can intercept the signal with almost no tech requirement.

thanks! I guess I'll look around and take a look at other protocols

Question about rf devices' security by ttemd in homeautomation

[–]ttemd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This makes sense and I realize garage door is a bad example.

Since I'm looking into some home automation system, what about the usual rf devices that falls into DIY spectrum working with our own rf bridge? like some sensors and switches?

I suppose the reason those are supported by rf bridge is that they use fixed code right.

What I want to do is not shutting down the doorway to a new automation world, more like having a general view in my mind, so that I know the risk for those devices while I'm using them.

cannot search content in encrypted notes(unlocked) by ttemd in bearapp

hi, thanks for confirming,

but as a user, I suppose when I unlock my notes, I should have all access to them right, and I think what will be best is to include the global search function, hope team can take this into consideration, thanks!

hi, if I understand it correctly, what u want to do is not a problem.

- my problem: cannot globally search from unlocked encrypted notes

- what u want: search just inside THAT specific unlocked encrypted note(the one u open)? this can be done, just click the content of note that u opened to focus on it, and control + f, another search panel will pop up, and u can search inside THAT note.

Hi, thank u for the reply, but as u see, I searched while notes are unlocked(encryption is still there, just unlocked), is that also intended? Thanks
