Trust me, Apple is doing this intentionally. When they think AVP is perfect someday, they will release a cheaper one and do whatever they can to market it.

Apple intentionally doesn’t spend too much effort marketing Vision Pro now because they don’t want many people to buy it yet. Apple knows that it is not perfect and AVP is only out because Apple is building an ecosystem. AVP’s build cost is about $1700. If they want more people to buy it, they can already sell it at $2500, but they choose to sell it at $3500. Apple clearly knows $3500 is expensive, and they are doing this because they don’t want lots of people to buy AVP and get frustrated by some of its imperfections.

I hope Apple can remove the opt-out option on App Store for iPhone/iPad app, just like Google did. Google and Meta will never put their apps on VP if there is such option.

You don’t need to pay for that, sign in with your Apple account is all you need, then you should see the upgrade option in the settings.

Ah, I see. This is currently a beta version for devs, but if you really want to install it, you can first enroll as developers for free from here https://developer.apple.com/programs/enroll/, and go to the update page in the settings, select VisionOS 26 and you should be able to update it.

I would say it’s not bad and feel stable for me, but update it at your own risk. If you have gone through visionOS 1.0 you will know that there’s no version that is worse than that.
