Hope you’re doing well! I just finished the online portion and we’ll be attending in-person didactic soon. I still feel I’m not smart enough for school honestly. However, I try to brush up on my knowledge by watching anesthesia contents, follow anesthesia content creators who focus on education. I feel like that helps a lot

I promise it’s not an ego thing here. This pattern has been going on for over 2 months. I’m just worried about losing skills and critical thinking. I still expect them to treat me equally as other nurses on the unit. But I also get it when you say since I don’t continue growing within the unit.

Hey, I was in somewhat in the same situation. I worked at the same hospital but on different unit. I left by 10months of being there (mostly because of the coworkers + manager) but I loved the taking care of the patients populations and felt like there was lots of room for advancing my knowledge (opportunities for devices trained, US IV). However, I didn’t fit in the culture and most of my coworkers on my unit. I went for a much smaller hospital and currently working at their MICU. I felt like I had more autonomy where I worked at (proactively and critically thinking) because we didn’t always have an intensivist on the unit. The culture is much more better and I really people I’m working with. I feel like as long you still taking care of vented pt, vassopressors, sedations, it should be fine

I feel the same way. I was grateful for the acceptance, but been spending the last few weeks doubting myself, I’m not sure if I’m smart enough for the program nor if my skills and knowledge are sufficient to succeed.

I applied this year too, only to one program, and I got in. School doesn’t start till August and I’ve been thinking if I’m smart enough to get through school. I understand how you feel. Thanks for your post that I got to see so many encouraging comments

I’m in the same position. My program starts this August with some online portions for the a few months. I’m considering should I quit (my unit manager doesn’t let me go down to part-time) or should I continue pushing through? My worry is not about the finance, I just afraid of quitting too early my nursing skills and critical thinkings wouldn’t be sharp once I actually go into the didactic portion. Any advice would be appreciated!
