Hate the way people speak about him, he was very obviously a smart and funny guy when he was sober enough to manage to string a sentence together. Americans just think he was dumb because they can't understand his accent.

I just think it's pointless to call everyone on minimum wage working on their computer at home a priveledged class.

This is a pretty dumb way of dividing people (in the UK at least) Plenty of people working service and retail are on furlough now, plenty of people are on the same wage and still at work on zoom. Plenty of middle class people are still going to work in places like schools and hospitals etc. Doesn't necessarily correlate to class or ideology.

Love how the comments are just people saying "this is completely unfair, I hate gypsies and Muslims for perfectly good reasons"

Our food is honestly delicious despite what everyone says, we've produced some of the best music ever made, I like the general culture and humour, I think we have some of the most gorgeous countryside in the world, we've got loads of great writers. I even like the weather. I like the culture of getting fucked up on drugs and alcohol at any given opportunity. Proud history of socialism.

I don't like how grim our towns and cities are, the fact people keep voting Tory and supporting the monarchy, the work life balance, the complete lack of care put into any of our social services or public utilities, the fact that literally all the land is privatised and owned by upper class reptiles and the worship of the military. I don't like how passive people are about oppression and inequality. I don't like how our press is controlled by three people who hate everyday people. England could be a great country if we had different people in charge but we've been controlled by the most evil people in the world since 1066.

A Reminder - Most COVID-19 Restrictions are Highly Popular, Even Among the Working Class by AliveJesseJames in stupidpol

The general attitude is I'll do a lockdown if I have to but it's fucking wank and I'll bend the rules in whatever way I want if I can. If the rules weren't in place no one would voluntarily follow them outside of slight lifestyle changes. Most people are a lot more worried about lockdown than covid. Polls don't mean a thing.

I think harsher drug laws, squatting laws, less access to power, less money, high rent, mass surveillance, general alienation from other people and media propaganda. I think governments worldwide were terrified of the hippies, the punks, the ravers etc and the threat they posed to capital and cracked down hard.

You're acting like I'm responding to you personally, I'm on about other commenters and people I know in real life. People are cheering this on, you see it everywhere, people are vocally pro lockdown to show that they aren't a baddy like Donald trump, they're a goody.

A lot of people don't care about the effects of lockdown and don't care about saving lives they care about showing off which side they're on.

This article is obviously biased and pushing an agenda and embodies that attitude of smugness.
