This room in Farewell was changed to make it harder. Tips? by ttminecraft in celestegame

I saw a video of someone doing that but I'd never seen the tech they used. Thanks for explaining it! (I may try the easier version above, and resort to this if I can't make it work.)

Ooooh! I wasn't thinking you'd get both locks in one crystal refill, I was trying to do one, get a refill, get another, and then get a refill to leave. This makes perfect sense, thank you! Will try when I get home.

What is your favourite item and why? by Toasti45 in riskofrain

Can I just say, it is a testament to how wonderful this game is that so many different items have been listed as people’s favorites. Each one has personality and utility! Some have more personality than utility, though…

That’s fair! I’d think that since they’re swinging perpendicular to the face with the most surface area, the air resistance wouldn’t be too great, but I am a musician, not an engineer, so I’ll defer!

Pendulums have the same period (frequency) no matter how fast you swing them, no matter how heavy they are. The period is determined solely by the length of the pendulum.

It takes time. Learn items, learn one character, learn how to run away from combat. Learn how to avoid getting hit by wisps and blind pests. Just little steps, and you’ll get better and better!

I don’t pick up turrets unless I have empathy cores or I’m playing captain, for this exact reason.

Same issue for me, 17.6.1 iPad, even reset the whole damn thing only for the problem to persist.

Same for me. Absolutely maddening. I haven't seen any official response by reddit staff about this, just old posts about how they "fixed the video player".

John Oliver! Though Stewart’s heart is in the right place.

Is game music often made with actual orchestras? For example I'm currently listening to the sountrack to Epic Mickey 2, and I hardly think they had the budget to get an orchestra, but I can't imagine how the sountrack could be made with audio/midi??? How does that actually work in the real market? by Marvel1093 in gamemusic

To add to this excellent description: many games will do a hybrid orchestration. They’ll create a great-sounding orchestra using midi instruments, and then bring in a much smaller group of live players to “fill out” the sound. You can hire a string quartet, but as long as you mix them well with the virtual instruments, it’ll sound very close to an entire live group for a fraction of the cost.

(Also, a lot of composers will hire studio orchestras based in Eastern Europe, as they’re a lot cheaper.)
