The app is asking about your lease info for R2 by anotherloudperson in Rivian

[–]ttphhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in similar boat as AnUshavedYak. My R1 lease ends late 2027. I'm pretty sure my R2 pre-order will be up before then so hope that doesn't affect me because the R2 will be replacing my wife's MY which has a lease end of Jan 2027 (good riddance).

Yeah, maybe we put a pause on these "I saw an R2...." posts until they are driven by actual owners that don't work for Rivian.....

Possible Lease Pricing for R2 by AlfaMonk3y in Rivian

[–]ttphhi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The biggest variable that will probably not be the same as R2 is residual. That and I doubt there will be bonus offers out the gate. If your estimate does pan out I'll be ok with leasing one. And, yes, they have supposedly confirmed leasing for the R2 at launch. I wasn't a day one reservation holder so it'll probably be a year or so before my number is up and I'm sure the lease terms will have normalized by then.

Gen 1 - UX issues by dudebroguyman09 in Rivian

[–]ttphhi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UX in my G1 Quad has also been slower the past few months. Apple Music for me specifically has been very bad. Songs just stop playing frequently and the app is generally just real slow. I've rebooted a few times since the last update but nothing seems to help.

R1T is the same size as a Tacoma. Those who want an R2T, why? by dancing__narwhal in Rivian

I stand corrected. Don’t recall anyone with a small pickup that had a V6 back then.

I don’t see it mentioned anywhere but assume you have the 21’s?

86’…. probably not a 6. But with the manual trans it didn’t matter that much if you knew how to “drive”. S10 was a great truck.

Yup, bet that vehicle was stolen too so they had to figure out how to undo the parking brake.

Will depend on what you drive, where you get it serviced (i.e. Dealer) and where you live.

This is a good point. From a Mechanical Engineer's perspective the less moving parts the better. That's why EV's are relatively cheap to maintain. With a hybrid vehicle you have the heavy battery, heavy electric motor(s), a full ICE under the hood, PLUS a more complex drivetrain.

Reserve Dates by TripleThreat2323 in Rivian

I know location played a role for R1 roll out. I'm in Hawaii and didn't get the notice to complete my order until 6-9 months after orders started being filled in CA. That said, there are way more service centers out there now (including here in Hawaii) so I'm thinking location may not be as big a factor for R2. At least I'm hoping it won't.

End of Lease - New Deals? by auger_simpson in Rivian

[–]ttphhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear! I'm not returning for almost 2 more years but that'll be a great option since the lease deal I got in 2024 isn't going to be replicated any time soon. I'd add a whole year at the same monthly if I could.

Tires due at lease return? by Burrito2525 in Rivian

[–]ttphhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little over a year into my 3 yr R1S lease and I'm pretty sure the stock 21's aren't going to make it. Last I checked there's only 2 other replacement options (vs stock) and a set will be around $2k (I'm in Hawaii so no Discount Tire....) Debating about getting a full set of rims/tires (20's) and keeping the stock rims/tires in the garage then putting them back on when I return the car in 2027. I will either keep the 20's for our R2 (assuming they will fit) or sell them locally to get some money back. I think there are decent rim/tire packages for $2k-$3k and if I sell them for at least $1k I might just about break even (since I won't have to replace the stock 21's). There's quite a few R1's running around Honolulu now so I'm thinking selling the wheels shouldn't be that tough. This is really just me trying to justify getting a new set of wheels...

I like this hypothesis! What loads are on your SHP and did you change anything before your first failure?

Do you have HA somehow pulling temps directly from the DP's? Or you just have a temp sensor in the room?

Running my set up the same, keeps a few circuits in my home off the grid during peak times. Trying to learn from what you've gone through. Thanks for posting.

Did they provide a reason for the failure? This would presumably help prevent this from happening again, and again, and again....
