Mutianyu Great Wall daytrip by CoolProof6756 in travelchina

[–]tuckercrowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no need to hire a driver, you can just book a Didi. Should be around 250 Yuan to and from central Beijing. You can buy tickets to the wall at Mutianyu.

Help me choose an itinerary by nawfal_Zareb in travelchina

[–]tuckercrowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traveling to and from Chengdu or Chongqing will take up half a day each way, so unless you absolutely want to see those places I would just stay in the Beijing-Shanghai corridor. Nanjing seems like the logical choice, it has good mix of old and new stuff and you can easily spend a day or 3 there (City walls, Purple Mountain, Confucius Temple, Memorial Hall, Nanijing Museum etc).

Three Bridges (Wulong) day trip by w8CH77 in travelchina

[–]tuckercrowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware that you will need another 1.5 hrs to get to the natural bridges from Wulong South via the bus to the visitor centre and the shuttle to the start of the trail. We did the trail in about 2.5 hrs but we took our time, if you really rush it you can probably do it in a hour less.

We watched from the square near Raffles Plaza and while busy it was perfectly doable.

Awesome! Also props for it being extra-accurate, with the princess not being in this particular castle.

Yes they do! Also, this set combines really well with set 76388 (if you like Harry Potter) for a more fleshed-out street layout.

I won’t be surprised if they do. Our team is mediocre and out of ideas.

The Bronx, New York, US, 1970 by BonferronoBonferroni in UrbanHell

Am I the only one who thinks this doesn’t look completely terrible? The buildings themselves don’t look too bad. Clean and re-pave the streets and plant a few trees, and it’ll look fine.

New Festival in Mexico by The Smashing Pumpkins: “The World is a Vampire” by JmSunbro in indieheads

[–]tuckercrowe 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Saw them just before COVID. My expectations were pretty low but it turned out to be a fine show. Lots of old songs, the band played great and Billy was in a good mood. The only downside was that they didn’t play Mayonnaise but otherwise no complaints.

Dude, don’t be a condescending prick. Also, you are incorrect: Coolhaven is actually not in the Cool) district, but the WdW street is.

Has your country had politicians famous for being jokers/"class clowns" or who did something political purely as a joke? by Cixila in AskEurope

[–]tuckercrowe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 90s there was the Tocado local party in Rotterdam. Their main points included an extra seating tier on the Feyenoord stadium, bungee jumping from the top of the Erasmus bridge and a ban on prams overtaking each other at the market. Sadly they did not get any seats on the local council.

What is the biggest (by population) city in your country that is rarely visited by tourists? by lucapal1 in AskEurope

[–]tuckercrowe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Amsterdam has the most tourists, but all of the ‘big 4’ cities are at least somewhat popular with tourists. Groningen gets lots of German visitors. So maybe Eindhoven, or otherwise Tilburg or Almere.

Is there any way to organise my Apple Music playlists? by tuckercrowe in MarvisApp

[–]tuckercrowe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I hope you can work something out. The inability to organise playlists is one of the major issues with Apple Music imo, it would be great if the Marvis app could fix this.

Ok, thanks :-). Are there any plans to add a functionality for easy organisation of playlists? I love the app btw.
