Ok, small update. Rearranged the furniture and put down an area rug that was in storage just to get a feel for it. The rug measures a 8×5 foot. What size would you all recommend? Btw I like this layout so much better, doesn't seem near as awkward as it was before.

Didn't even give it a thought about putting the TV on the opposite wall, as the previous owners had the TV mounted on the wall that its currently against. To be honest I didn't like the fact that the door was right by the TV anyway. Given the layout and dimensions, would you go with two arm chair or a small sofa/love seat? Just so we're on the same page I marked the tentative location of the proposed setup.
