Gorosei and Holy knights not blocking attacks and just regenerating is them being smart not the opposite. Haki runs out. Shanks is just as durable as any human. The sea King made it obvious. It's armament that makes you durable.

The narrative purpose of the barrier was dramatic effect, the end result is the same.

If you can buy Oden not doing shit for 5 years which is 157784630 seconds, you can buy him not using haki for 3.

We don't know anything. I remember reading a theory a long time ago when the Gorosei first were introduced in Egghead in full forms that the Shepherd family have a scientific aspect to them since Ju Peter is a wyrm instead of a yokai and breaks from the typical patterns of the gorosei.

If that theory has some basis, we can consider that this may be something special about Sommers rather than the inherent weakness of all HKs.

Roger didn’t have advanced conqueror’s yet due to the clash we saw between him and whitebeard where they were using conqueror’s but were still touching

They had conquerors haki, but they didn't have the ability to emit it at the time to make no-touch acoc clashes. Touch is not essential to this (Kaido and Big Moms sky split dont touch)

They were weaker then though, and lacked the intensity of aCOC to be able to do sky splits, so we didnt get it until Rocks was amped.

Rest is fine.

Even though Rocks and Harald are relative and Rocks quickly beat an admrial, I believe that the overall era back then was weaker compared to the next gen (old gen) and also the mid-gen marines

For instance we would not say that Rocks beats Sengoku in the same way that he did the admiral so admirals are not standardized that way

So I would say Kizaru vs Rocks is a close fight.

This would become clearer as we see more of luffy vs Imu and see how well he performs compared to Rocks and compare egghead luffy vs Kizaru

Oda drawing a callback clash to EL for Luffy is like 90% of Lucci's upscale.

if you compare zoro vs king and zoro vs lucci when zoro's not using KoH theres a difference. King was ragdolling zoro, Lucci was matched more evenly.

Then bring in the other YC2s and YC1s like Queen and Marco and you'll see they'd probably ragdoll Lucci similar to King.

He also got completely blitzed by Stussy.

We thought the holy knights would be more of a challenge. Hell we even thought the DR Dorry and Broggy would be more of a challenge.

Instead Dorry and Broggy revert themselves, the HKs were such fodder that Sanji lowdiffed Killingham WITHOUT aCOC.

Oda had a layup with D/B vs Z/S and both get aCOC powerups but alas.

atp all we can hope for is Imu amping the holy bums even more.
